This morning when i was leaving for work i started her up. Car idled perfect as I let it warm up. When I put it in first and started to drive away the engine was shaking pretty bad and it would accelerate super super slow. It would eventually give in and go but everytime I came to a stop it would do the same thing. Just super bad shaking as if the car wanted to die but it kept on trying (my car is a BEAST! LOL) Anyway, I was just curious as to what I could start looking at before I make the decision to have a mechanic check it out. THanks :thumb: :dsm:

Possibly your spark plugs are gone, maybe your only running on two cylinders or something... In my last talon, a few of the plugs got moist and rusted and the car ran REALLY rough until I changed them.

Did you have the A/C on, by chance? What was the approximate outside temperature?

Also, if you can get it to do it again, pull over and pop a spark plug out. Is it covered with gas? Any deposits on it?

I recently changed my plugs and wires about 5 months ago. NGK's with Magnecor wires. But I'll check em out. Is there any way it could be my fuel filter? Since Ive had the car I havent messed with it. Im just guessing though, I have no idea what it could be.
I appreciate the speedy replies so far though. :thumb:

AC was not on, and the outside temp was about 65. So it wasnt freezing by anymeans.

Mine did the same thing and it was the wires. I changed the plugs and wires and everything was fine. Not sure how long wires/plugs last but that would be my first choice. Check the plugs for build up/fuel. Have you done anything lately to the car? Like mods or anything of that nature? :thumb: :talon:

check your throttle body for any leaks , if theres a hiss sound undewr the hood it could be a vacuum leak, that casues a 'hopping' feeling at the start and also the hessitation that u have. I dont think its the plugs casue u would hear a misfire sound comin (if u knwo what to listen for) my buddy had a jeep with a vacuum leak and it did the same thing, throttle body fixed and it was fine. I KNOW A JEEP ISNTA DSM but almost all cars have throttle bodies and all can have the same problem happen

Found the problem. Thanks for all the replies guys, it helped. One of my wires came undone from the cap on the end that goes to the coil pack. I started removing wires one by one to see if one was bad and sure enough one of the wires was shooting sparks out of the wrong end. I swapped them with my stock wires for now, i'll buy some new magnecors tommorow, im due for a new set anyway since mine were purchased used. :thumb: Thanks again :dsm:
