Hi guys!
I need some help here my car still not passing emissions i was told that i might need a new catalytic converter because i have high CO readings, but wouldn't a bad catalytic converter throw CEL?
I scanned the car for codes with 2 different scanners no codes at all same with DSMlink no codes at all, no CEL, the car runs fine, no power lose nothing if i had a bad rear O2 sensor wouldn't that throw CEL as well?

Yes a bad o2 sensor would throw a CEL if you're cat wasn't working properly. Have you done a tune up lately?

Yes, except spark plug wires but they look good and i also changed the ISC like 2 weeks ago cause mine was bad, broken and o-ring missing for some reason:confused: (last owner i guess)

If you can get e85, run a 50/50 mix of that and premium gas. Just stay out of boost.

It might help you pass.

Yeah a would love to be able to do that but look where i live!!
People here they haven't even heard about e85:toobad: and emissions here seems to be as tight as in california.:ohdamn:

Which version of link do you have? You can run v2 on a palm and set all your stuff to pass LOL. That's how I do it.

That too LOL. If you can tune yourself, run a conservative tune and it'll definitely help your chances. And if all else fails, get someone to "pass" you, like I did ;)

I have v3 I'm planing to take my laptop with me anyway so I'll make some changes just to pass if everything else fail I'm going tomorrow again...

So high CO levels means unburned fuel right? So if I tune it to run leaner just for the emission should work. In dsmlink it shows i have a good A/F ratio it bounces between 13.x to 15.x when idle I have a brand new AEM air filter and no boost or vacuum leaks.

Are you running your wideband sensor out of either of the O2 sensor bungs and turning off the cel in link? I've read that people have tons of issues when they use and existing O2 sensor bung instead of welding one on.

Also, I think you can buy some stuff in a bottle that helps to pass emissions, otherwise E85 is a good idea and generally works from what I have read.

Sounds like o2 sensor to me, because I had ran over a big ol coon and he ripped my back o2 sensor wire right in half. And it made my car run lean.

I don't have Wideband yet I'm just guiding myself from whatever link reads.
Man I would love to be able to buy e85 but as I mentioned in a post above look where I'm living now, you guys in this forum are the only thing I have LOL

I hope you're talking about the rear O2 sensor! Still I'm not getting a CEL

Also, You CAN run denatured alcohol in the tank for a higher octane. Im just not 100% sure if its safe for turboed vehicles..
