Ok guys I need some help. I have a 4 bolt to put in my car but Im have trouble getting the 3 bolt out. What have you guys done to get the 2 bolts off the top of the differential?

did you read up on vfaq.com they say those are a real big pain, forget if they had a trick though?

Undo the rear mount bolts and the boomerang shaped bracket that attaches to the rear of the diff. Completly unload the rear suspension (jacks + jackstands), and you will be able to get a socket up on top. Get those two out, drop the side bolts, and it will slide back and down.

My top bolts would not come off.. so I drilled a hole thru the floor of the rear hatch ;)

Yea.. kinda ghetto.. but have since swapped in two other rears and has made it much easier for me. Not to mention easier to tork those bolts down properly.

Works but i really wouldnt suggest this.... I had to use a special socket/ratchet that my dad had, it barely fit up there. I suggest doing it the right way. Make sure the car is jacked up and the suspension free, you need as much room as possible
