95 gst- stock -just put in new engine and it turns over but wont start-new starter and I hear it working but still no start-I took off the fuel rail and no fuel spilling out so do I need a new fuel pump??Car sat for 3 years and I finally put a new engine in-also new spark plugs-There is a ground wire behind the intake that is not hooked up to anything ??Where does it go? Its hooked to firewall behind intake and not hooked up to anything???is this ground keeping the fuel from coming and where does it go?Also not sure if vacuum lines are hooked up right would that keep the engine from starting??please help

When you turn the key on, do you hear the fuel pump buzz? Have you replaced the fuel filter?

no I dont hear it buzz and no on the filter

if i take the fuel connector off the fuel rail 2 10mm bolts and push the gas with the key in shouldnt it squirt fuel

what do u mean by bump ?? how do you bump it ? tap on it ?and does the key need to be on when u bump?

bump as in bump the ignition. dsms have a non-priming fuel system, unlike other cars where the fuel system presurizes when the key is in the "on" position the fuel pump is activated by the cam angle sensor.

so what you want to do is, remove the fuel line from the rail, and then briefly "start the car" so that the cams will turn the CAS and activate the fuel pump.

as a second option you can do this: (assuming its the same as a 1g, im not sure)
locate the mpi relay (under the console next to the ecu in 1gs) turn the key to the "on" position, remove the mpi relay cover, and press the tab on the right down, this will close the circuit and activate the fuel pump, you should be able to hear it buzzing, and if the fuel line is disconnected fuel will also spray out of the line.

If it sat for 3 years, possible gummed up fuel filter and or failing/failed fuel pump.

i bumped it alot and never got fuel to the rail and never heard the pump?

Pull the pump out, leave it all connected up, but remove the fuel line(s). Aim it towards a bucket and crank the key. IF the pump is good, it will squirt fuel. IF it doesn't, then it is a fuse or the pump is bad. You can extend the pump wires so it is out of the car when testing.

the fuse is going to be in one of the engine bay fuse boxes or under the dash. if you have someone to help you I'd suggest you check the voltage at the pump if the fuses are good.

haynes doesnt tell you what fuse controls the fuel pump but all mine look good anyway?Theres only 1 fuse box in engine bay and one under dash on a 95 right?

that sounds right. I'd suggest you get someone to hold the starter over and then hold a voltmeter on the positive wire at the fuel pump. if its getting 12ish volts but not flowing then the problem is the pump

Are you getting spark? I just had to replace my ecm on my 90 eagle talon. It had similar symptoms. If it isn't getting spark it could be the cas or the ecm. Also, I've read that the wire on the manifold can cause it to not start, so ground that to the chassis for sure
