Anyone have any idea where I can get a factory manual for cheap (maybe even borrow) or get me a engine light check code (p1105) and tell me what the problem is? Thanks for feedback.

Also is the code different from a 98?

-Kyle

Get a Haynes or Chilton manual for a 95-99 Eclipse/Talon from your local auto parts store. Engine codes are in the book (atleast several are).

The codes should be the same for 97 and 98, because the ECU is identical.

I don't remember off the top of my head what p1105 is, but I can tell you that it is a common code for modified DSMs and shouldn't be a problem.

*edit*
p1105 is your fuel pressure solenoid. It is probably removed or disconnected. Either way, look at your fuel rail when you're standing in front of the car. On the driver's side there should be the little BOV looking thing (your fpr). Attached to it is a vacuum hose that runs up to a little black plastic piece that is bolted to the firewall. That is your FPS. Make sure it is plugged in.

i have two chiltons manuals if ## interested pmessage me and i will send it to you if u pay for shipping.

If he spliced in in the wrong place for his boost gauge or has a leak in the boost line from the splice, could that trigger that code?

Read what blackspoolin wrote like an hour ago. Its the vacuum line off your FPR. But if it was completely off, you would have a hard time running your car. It could be a small split in the line somewhere though, or if you tapped your boost gauge off of it, the T might have come loose or something.

Kenamond, you can splice that line for your boost gauge and it will work. Theres just that much more of a chance of a leak though.

That's what I was asking. If he had a leak where he tapped in his boost line and was getting a low fuel pressure signal, is that what triggers the code or is it if the solenoid is flat out not working?

I ran my boost gauge there for 2 years before I removed my FPS completely. When you tap anything, you are not lowering pressure in any sort of way. So, the answer to your question is your FPS is either disconnected or not functioning.
