Heater air source selector not working?

I have yet to take this apart to try to find what's wrong, but the selector for outside or recirculated air seems to be malfunctioning giving me only recirculated air. It turns to outside fine, but as I get past the halfway point the light dims (not sure if it used to do this or not) and my car fogs like it's still on recirc. Does anyone know what could fail in this system? Switch, wiring, a valve somewhere, etc...?

I'm getting sick of driving with my window cracked in the cold.

Pull your heater control out and see if one of the cables has come off. I've seen this before. It is defined by the feeling like it's not hooked to anything.

Check at control and at recirc door.

Does anyone know what could fail in this system? Switch, wiring, a valve somewhere, etc...?

It's just a push-pull wire. Get up under the dash (ulgh) and look around. Possibly bent, but most likely the cover sheathing has slipped from its mount at the control door.

Ok, it turns out the white plastic gear piece has fallen off. I see wwhere and how it fits (or at least i think I do) but I can't seem to get it to fit so that the gears engage. Any tips?
