Head Liner Coming Off???

Hey i got a 96 talon ... my headliner is starting to come off where my rearview mirror is ... what is the best stuff to make it stick back up there???

Here's the problem, when you buy new headliner fabric it has a layer of foam attached to it. When you install it, you spray glue on the foam and put it on the headliner board (on the roof). When they get old, the foam seperates from the fabric, if you over spray it with glue, the fabric will get ruined.

I recommend that you pick up the headliner kit from www.stockinteriors.com and do your headliner.

Or buy your own fabric...

When I did mine, I picked up a few yards of a charcoal felt from JoAnn Fabric. No foam to rot away in a few years and it came out pretty nice. Also, by doing it with your own fabric, you get some more options opened up to you as far as colors/patterns, stuff like that.

I used my own fabric as well...its a pretty easy project to do...i just reccommend you grab another pair of hands to make sure you put the fabric on nice and tight with no wrinkles....also be very generous with any adhesive that you use. Make sure you take your time on it too

I had this problem and I went out and bought a spray on adhesive from the frabric shop, it does not look to bad. It will get you by until you are ready to do something else.

Agreed, 3m Adhesive is what I have used for the 4 or 5 headliners I've done. I'll never use anything else. Though it is usually more expensive then the rest - do it once, do it right.
