I just picked up a mint 93 TSI AWD for around a grand, and the only problem with it is a blown head gasket.. While I have the access, I will also be replacing the water pump, timing belt and components, and balance shaft belt.. I need some opinions as the best place to get a head gasket component kit, timing/balance belt kit, and water pump.. The dealer is obviously going to charge an arm and a leg. I have no plan to cheap out with ebay parts, seeing as this is one of the most critical aspects of maintnance, but would like to stay on as much of a budget as I can..

BTW, if there is any other maintnance you would reccomend being done at this point(88k miles), please let me know.. I obviously know to flush the fluids and do a basic tune up.

I recommend getting the SBR timing belt kit. Waterpump you can get at any parts store. As far as headgasket goes if you aren't planning on modding a lot stock is fine. If you are gonna mod get a MLS headgasket but either way get the head checked for warpage.
