gvr4 Transfer case in 1g tranny??

okay, ive looked in the search and saw one thread made about it but it had no feedback.

in a short simple term: i have a 1g tranny w/o a transfer case that i want to put in my gvr4. 1st and 2nd gear on my gvr4 is out so, im in need of a tranny to put in so i can atleast drive. (no car no way to get around). so i stumble upon a guy sellin a non-grinding 90 awd tranny that doesnt have a transfer case, which i stated earlier. and i came to a question if i could bolt my gvr4 transfer case onto the tranny. i read in a thread that it would jus bolt right on SO...im jus making sure before i go ahead and do it. FEEDBACK is needed quickly because im plannin to pick up the tranny this friday and drop it in sometime next week. thank you very much...

If memory serves, 90'-early 91' has 22 spline output shaft, late 91'+ has 23 spline, same applies to GVR4. The answer to your question depends on which spline count GVR4 transfer case you have.

well, i jus read that the 90 trannies are different compare to 91's. like the shift linkages and so forth. not sure...jus let me know

Yes the linkages are totally different between the 90 and 91-94 stuff, as well as the shift levers on the trans, which is very important.
