I installed prokit springs and GR2s (1G TEL kits) a couple weeks ago. The ride height in the rear was VERY low, so I fabbed up a couple of half inch spacers to raise it up. The front ride height is fine, but in hard corners I get serious fender rub (so much that it is chunking my tires). I pulled the fenders out some and bent up the inner lip, and it helped a little but it still rubs in hard corners. With this setup I get a stock feeling ride, but I also get stock body roll. With the car lowered and with my wheel/tire set up (225/40-18, 38mm offset), the fenders touch the tires when the car rolls over. What are some ways I can fix this? If I have to change my suspension set up, what is a good set up for the galant?
 
you might want to try galantvr4.org, as this topic has been discussed to death there. I know that quite a few people are running H&R springs & agx's to some amount of happiness. Some are running Evo8 suspension (converted) and others are running coilovers from companies like Tein or hotbits.

As for the mushy handling & such, you're probably getting that because spring rates for TEL's are slightly different than those for VR4's due to the extra hundred+ pounds of weight (and different balance points). I'm not 100% sure on that one though, so i'll let someone else elaborate.
 
I have a 1990 Galant GSX and I put the H&R springs on my car still with stock struts for now and I don't have any rubbing problem. I have 225/45-16 with 35mm offset. How wide are your rims cause they might be to wide for the offset you have, my rims are 7 inches wide and they sit very close to the fender. The wider the rims you have, the more positive offset you need to keep the wheels from sitting out to far.

As for handling, I still have understeer. But with some left foot braking and throttle adjustment the car goes around the corners pretty good. Not as good as a Civic hatchback but fun still fun to drive.
