Hey Guys,

I was wondering what the differences are between the PET GT30R and Slowboy Racing GT12. I know they both have 56 trim compressor wheels, TO4E compressor housings, rated at 500hp and cost about the same. So, are there really any differences between the two? Thanks!!

If you want to compare turbo to turbo, compare the SBR GT30R to PTE's GT30R. The -12 cartridge is a little bit different and neither 30R's run a TO4E cover. There's a lot of little differences in these turbo's. The -12 cartridge can use a TO4E cover, or a 3" Mitsubishi cover, this is customer choice and the latter is a bit more expensive but also nicer looking and easier to fit onto the car in tight spaces. The true GT30R's have there own 4 inch inlet covers. I have uploaded some photos of the 3 different covers. The first is a 3" Mitsu Cover. The second is a GT12 in a TO4E cover with an elbow welded on. The third picture is a GT30R 4" Surge Susspression Cover.

Thanks for the reply. I don't think we are talking about the same PET turbo though. The PET gt30rbb turbo I'm talking about does have a to4e housing and from the information that many website are giving, the SBR gt12 and PET gt30rbb are very similar. I can't make my mind up on which one to get. I would prefer the SBR gt12 because you have the option of having a 90 degree elbow welded on, but I also like the PET gt30rbb because they have part of the turbine housing removed to prevent boost creep. Does it help-I don't know, but it seems cool. Either way, I don't think I can go wrong. There both rated at 500hp, spool like hell, or so I read, and their supposed to bolt right up. Also, could you do me a favor and give me a price quote on the SBR gt12, internally gated, to4e housing, and a 90 degree elbow (pointing toward passanger side)? Thanks a bunch!!!!
