im in the market for a electronic boost controller..... and was wondering the differences in the 2 and which one is better..

Thanks

it depends what profec b your talking about?

there is the greddy profec b spec ii

and theres the old school greddy profec b..

the greddy type s ebc is based on the old school greddy profec b

the old school greddy profec b is sitll to this date considered one of the best ebcs for its price.. and the release of the type s was just a revised version..

its been mixed reviews with the greddy profec b spec ii.. some have no problems with it.. some do.. maybe thats why there were so quick to release the type s based ont he old profec b? who knows..

but based on my experience with the profec b (OG) and the type s.. they are great ebcs.. simple to hook up and work with.. holds 15 psi strong low boost and 21 and up with a turn of a knob.. with pte 50.. stock 2g mani and o2 housing.. 3" turboback.. no creep or spike..

yea i mentioned it

id recommend getting the old style profec b or the type s.

do a search on the spec ii.. ull see a handful of complaints compared to none with the old style.. which is basically the type s

There is a software problem with the type s head unit that is only allowing people to boost up to 25 psi. So if you buy it from a reputable dealer make sure you ask if the problem has been fixed. I can only reach 24 psi with my 44 mm wastegate, I called Greddy and they said I must send them the head unit to correct the problem.

I searched back to when the Profec B 2 came out and the only complaints I saw were user error issues. Ya see that book you got in the box, READ IT!

I have and have been running mine for a few months now and it holds boost just fine, it doesnt spike at all and I have yet to see any issues with regards to quality. My only gripe is how it displays boost in PSI x10, so I mostly just use it in SI mode to display in Bar's.

my spec II is messing up on me. It use hold 20psi now its doing that spiking shit
20psi-15psi-20psi-15psi
I'm using the same settings as I did months ago (when it use to work). maybe I'm just a dumbass that cant read  greddy has nothing to do with it i'm sure :|

a buddy of mine as also has the same problem, what a coincedence :notgood:
