So, last night me and my boy took his talon to the track. It's a very plagued talon, as it has quarts of oil dripping from it, but we said #### it and decided to run it. We got there and it was runnin 17psi of boost and on the first run, bunch of shit happened. It ran a 19 @ 40mph, yep, pretty sad. Well the IAC motor plug came off and made the car buck real bad. During the next run the downpipe decided to disconnect itself and the boost fell off to 12psi, and it ran a 13.8 @ 96mph. We were going to raise the boost but at this time, we started losing a lot of oil from an unknown source and when we got there we were full of oil, on the 3rd run we were down a quart and a half :thumb: . Anyways, we added oil, which most fell out right away, and decided to run again. The next run was on 12psi and base timing, this the best run of the night it was a 13.7 @ 94mph. Somewhere we lost the MPH up top but we gained a real good launch, not the best one but it spinning pretty bad out of the hole. The last run is when we got pretty much kicked off the track. It spun real bad out of the hole and ran a 13.8 @ another low 90mph run. From the time I staged to the deep yellow light to when the green light hit, i dropped a good 1.3 of quart of oil, and they said we had to check it out. Decided it was coming from the front balance shaft screw since it looks like its coming out of the front timing cover and dripping down the oil filter housing.

All in all on 12psi of boost and 5degree base timing the car is a strong high 13 second car, not to mention the definate spinning all through first. What really sucked is, they kept spraying down the pit area where you burn out, with water. So were stuck with ### wet tires. Oh well, It was fun.

If ny of you guys have some feedback let me know.

The mods follow as hard intercooler piping, 255pump, act 2600, brand new bored over .20 motor on 2g pistons. No BS's, cams, ported turbo, ported evo 3 o2 exhaust housing, and ported manifold, and a 3 inch jaun on a apexi muffler. haha :thumb:

For real, though is it safe to advance the timing a couple of degrees and put the boost around 17psi. We had it set on 17psi for a little and it was making really good power on base timing.

thanks

Very consistent runs, although the trap speed seems a bit low for a FWD.

Yeh, it is awesome, it's even better seeing that it was only on 12psi of boost and base timing, i know the car has way more power in it. I think next time we get it to the track, hopefully we can run some race gas and advance the timing and raise the boost.

You leaked 1.5 quarts out onto the track and the officials didnt send youre ass packing? I woulda requested you to be asked to leave..

If you have the fuel mods turn that sucker up to 18psi.

They didn't send my ass packing, they asked me politely to service my oil leak. Why be a ****, or even better...whats the point of making a stupid comment like that? Is there some sort of action a moderator can take on that? That comment just disturbs me for some reason. It was almost like time was wasted on him cause he wasted time on posting something like that.

Anywho, the fuel mods are there and the boost is up to 18psi. I am just afraid because there is no fuel control and its a 255lph pump on 450cc inj.'s...we'll see how she does tonight at the track.

Oh yeah, the leak was from a blown front balance shaft seal. Sorry, since I had so much control over that. dumby.

Should be good enough for low 13s maybe even a high 12 cosidering what the car ran at 13psi... :thumb:

Well, I would have been rather angry as well if I saw a car leaking oil onto the track surface, whether it was easily repairable or not.

As for his comment, I see nothing wrong with it. In fact, I agree wholeheartedly and I imagine many other members would as well.

Also, it's dummy. Cripes.

I agree 100%, why take your car to the track when you know it's gonna leak Oil everywhere.

What happens if your oil made someone else crash there car...

Sounds like you had control over that....

Wtf? I had no control over a seal going bad at the track?

well, when you found out about the oil leak, did you continue to drive the car down the track or did you stop? because if you didnt stop and you knew it was leaking, then i most certainly would have been pissed off beyond belief.

Agreed completely

didnt you say earlier in the thread that you said screw the oil leak and lets go to the track anyways? god forbid if you killed someone because you and your buddie didnt care about anyone else or yourself! i think i would have fell over laughing at you when you blew your engine with EXACTLY 1.3qts of oil in it. :thumb: Please dint embarrass out dam community and bring that car to the track again till the oil leak is fixed. also if you blow up your motor i dint want to see a thread saying "HELP I BLEW MY MOTOR UP BECAUSE I'M A IDIOT"

Thank you and Have a nice day
