Ok. So I have a question, and it would be sweet if people wouldn't flame me. I'm not an idiot, and I know it. So please just try to help and maybe understand a little bit. ?
So, I have a 1993 Laser RS N/T 5spd. It runs pretty good. Actually, it runs great with only 76k on the clock.
Well, even though it runs great it's still slower than I'd like it to be. And I use to own a 91 Eclipse GST. So I know what a quick car is. But I sold it, due to reasons I would rather not explain. Well, I'm not really happy with my slow DSM. But, I don't want to go for straight line performance. Especially with another FWD. I want to autocross. But, the car still lacks the balls to really get up and go in the straights. At the moment I can't afford to do a whole 4g63t swap.
I know what all I need to turbo my 4g63 n/t. But, I don't want to rip into the motor to swap out pistons or anything like that. I know that its best to keep the PSI low. Around 8 if I'm not mistaken? Well, I know the 14b is a great little turbo. And it spools pretty quick. But I've also been looking into the T25's. Yes, I said it. The T-2small. I know, I know. Why would I want something that small when a 14b is better and spools quick also? Ok, well I know the 14b is better, obviously. But, I don't need alot of power. I don't need the car to pull liked a raped ape. I just need a little more power for comming out of the turns and stuff. And a T25 would work pretty well I think.
Ok, I know most of you probably think I'm crazy. But I feel it would work out rather well. I know the problems with the psi dropping off near redline. But would it do this even with the psi so low? I think that with the t25 I would be able to get the extra power I need, fast spool, and keep it somewhat reliable. Because obviously a turbo puts more stress on the internals. And due to the lower cfm on the t25 I think it would help out some. Because 8-10 psi on a 14b is different from 8-10 psi on a t25 obviously. I just think it would work out better for autocross racing?
So, the question in general is. .
Would a t25 work out good for an autocross car?
And if you just skimmed through all of that to find this. . . Odd/retarded question, then please go through and read it all before you flame me or try to call me a noob.
Thanks for your time,
Andrew
