good setup suspension?

due to lack of $$ i really only have 2 options for struts/springs...

kyb gr-2 with eibach prokit

or

Tokico HPK spring and shock kit.


I don't really know much about suspension so any advice would be nice. also what are the drops on both? THANKS.

I'd say go with the Tokico HP kit if your really that short on cash but I'd say it would be better to save up for Eibach pro's and KYB AGX's. Whats the rush? If its not broke don't fix it. It will do you better in the long run to save up for the higher quality second option.

I have a few friends that have ran both,id go with the kyb and eibachs thats what im saving up for right now and i have some ES Poly bushings in the rear end i bought the kit for 76 shipped id also get those improves the handling alot

If your really strapped for cash, just buy some nice struts now (Illuminas, Koni Yellows, AGXs) and get the springs latter when you have the cash.

The stiffer struts alone will improve your handling and will pave the way for a great setup.

That would probably be his best choice for now.

Koni yellow (sport) single-adjustable (they're adjustable for rebound damping) shocks are good shocks regardless of what aftermarket springs you are considering, and they can be rebuilt (even though a rebuild costs almost as much as brand new shocks these days), so that's nice.

Don't use aftermarket springs with your stock shocks--the stock shocks just don't have enough damping to control stiffer springs.

Personally, if you asked me, I'd spend about $800~1000 to get a set of Koni shocks with a sleeved coilover kit such as the Ground Control kit. Then if you have the budget go for the RRE upper shock mounts to increase the suspension travel (some of which you lose if you lower your car). It's more expensive than the cheapest shock+spring combos you can find, but that gives you an excellent suspension setup.

Also, look into swaybars. They make a huge difference in handling feel without causing a harsher ride.
