Getting my car towed....time to talk mods.

My 90 gsx broke down the other day (head gasket). Ive been looking online, while i have the head off it would be a great time to mod the car. Its a 90 gsx, 5 speed, 136K on the car. I was thinking of pistons, rods,cams (performance) maybe a bigger turbo. Can you guys suggest anything, i would LOVE to run 12's, i dont know how hard it would be.

All i had done was a K&N and a manual boost controller with a gauge. Also a 3" turbo back exhaust, brand new.

How much do you think im looking at? Any ideas would be great, im going to head to my g/fs later, we are going to get online and look up some parts, so if i could have a head start with suggestions i would be really happy, thanks guys.

you could run 12's with a stock internal engine. but you need all the supporting mods before you can make some huge power levels. you cant just slap a big turbo on the car and expect it to be the fastest thing on earth. check out http://roadraceengineering.com/2gupgradepath.htm

While the head is off, do an upgraded headgasket, and your general maintenance. Then just follow the tech guide here, and you will be running 12's.

Would you guys agree that now would be the best time to do these things?

Being a 1990 can we install electronic boost controllers?

You are saying that i dont need a crank/ rods or pistons?

I forgot to mention, the timing belt, auto tensioner, balance shaft belt was just replaced also. (Not related to the head gasket, don't worry Also plugs and wires, and most general maintanace.

I was looking at the staged guide. I am curious as to which turbo to get, possibly a mitsu 20g, or a the evoIII big 16G, any suggestions?
