Middletown,
i have a 91 turbo eclipse and my buddy told me i should only run 93 octane gas in it? his 95 gst says premium unleaded fuel only on the gas gauge and mine doesnt and i dont have a owners manual to check, but what gas does the car call for? It seems to run the same wether i put 87 or 93 in, and shouldnt it knock with 87 octane if it does call for 93?

check your user manual...you really should put in AT LEAST 91...but if you own a dsm...why skimp on somthing so small? just use 93.

I say put the 93 in it.

First page of the 90 talon users manual

"Cars equipped with a turbocharged engine: Your car will operate satisfactorily on premium unleaded gasoline having a minimum octane rating of 91, (R=M)/2. These dasignations are comparable to 95 RON (Research octane number). However, you may use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of at least 87 (91 RON). If prolonged heavy engine knocking (audible pinging) occurs on your car, consult your dealer."

Defiant go to the hardware store and buy some toluene (or however you spell it tol-u-iene). This will allow you to make your own race gas :D.
