I would really like to max out my 50trim turbo on a 2 litre ,
whats your honest opinion, price wise , both come up to the same
HKS 272/272 Price = FP2X + Manley Springs

I heard many speak abou the FP2 , but how are the FP2X going so far, better than HKS272 in terms of mid and top end ?

Thank you guys

if you want to use the FP2x you should use the dual valve spring like supertech , it means the manley single valve spring cant help you . i have FP2x cams and i really glad to use them , nice idle with max power , its similar to FP3 but the FP3 just for strocker engine and FP2x for 2.0L engine . i know that you will be happy with FP2x but dont forget to you MUST use Dual Valve Springs .

Agreed. My FP2x cams are awesome above 4000 rpms. Using Supertech dual valve springs is recommended. You'll have to mess around with idle quite a bit. I found that the stock 800rpm was very very lopey. Raising idle to 1000 with DSMLink and the BISS made things much smoother.

HKS 272's are better just look at the specs. Also keep in mind HKs is new the FP stuff is regrinds. In other words used cams they took an made to there specs. Thats why there 1/2 the price of HKS. also HKS Stands behine there product all the way. So if you get a problem they will take care of you. I Dont know too much about fP on there customer service withthere products.

Didn't know the FP were regrinds. But I've heard nothin but great things about their cams.

And speaking of FP about their customer service, I can say they are one of the best or the best when it comes to customer service. Their products are also amazing and they proudly stand by their products.

From what I heard FP buys the used cams an puts them in there shop an machines them to there specs. What cams they use to do it with I dont know. Would be nice to find out if the cams they use are 1G's or what.

you are wrong buddy , FP cams comes from Competition Cams in Memphis, TN, they are not regrinds like the DKS
the reason why HKS is more expensive is because its not manufactured in US , HKS are made in Asia , Thailand and Japan , reasons for it to be expensive would be Import Duties , Tax , Shipment and etc , further more you buy HKS stuff in the US which is not directly from HKS , it passes thru distributors and dealers while the FP's are direct from FP. I live in Asia, Malaysia, the COMP and FP cams are priced way up higher than HKS. HKS over here is just well over 500USD.

tbonitz301 : of coz i know about their site buddy , how could i compare the prices then :D

sorry for my english guys :)

I'm not sure where you get your info from but I'd advise you to re-check your source ;) FP cams are NOT regrinds & I'm not sure what specs you are looking at but the FP2X's have both more lift & a faster ramp rate vs the HKS cams. They are designed to give you better top end vs the HKS, while also keeping the midrange descent. Both FP's products & customer service are top notch :thumb:.

As for springs, more then a few have run the Manley's with the 2X's (some past the 7500 stock redline) & not had an issues. Personally I run the FP1X cam's & if you only have pump (we have 94 here, but even worse if you only have 91) gas, you may want to stick to a non "X" series of cams as they do tend to be abit more knock happy (though with 2X's, this may not be as much of an issue as they are geared towards top end power, where as the 1X's make it all midrange, which is where your peak cylinder pressure/most likely to knock is in the first place). Now if you can run higher octane or have meth injection, these cams are amazing! If I wasn't limited by emissions, I wouldn't think twice about swapping to the FP2X's!

Read the rules, first of all. "I heard" passing for fact is a violation.

Next, unfvck your grammar.

any of you guys previously ran 272's then switched to the FP's ? i am still looking for some kind of dyno sheet :D
