I currently have a small 16g installed on my gsx and I might be upgrading to a FP Green. Can I use my current SS oil lines for the FP green or will I need new ones? What else would I need, or how do I deal with the coolant lines the 16g used to use? Just trying to figure out what all I need to order.

I'm not sure about the oil lines but as for the water lines you can just run a loop of rubber tubing from one pipe to the other. Are green's not water cooled? Also any questions about that turbo and installing it will be answered by FP if you talk to them. They are really cool guys and know their stuff.

Doesnt the green come with oil feed and oil return lines? When you go to FP site and look at the "Related Items" it does not show oil feed nor oil return lines....although I am not sure on this, maybe someone can correct me....

Yes the lines are the same, nice this thread is from 04

Relevant topic- at least the thread was revived for an additional tech question instead of someone saying something like "my buddy has a Green on his car at 18psi and it feels nice."

The majority of older FP Greens did not use coolant lines- some did....the coolant provision was available upon request when ordering. I *believe* the coolant provisions are on the center housing of all new FP HTA Greens.

Nice I learned something I did not know you could get just oiled center sections. In 04 we put one on a buddies car and used the old lines my memories a little faded but I do believe it was water cooled. I was not trying to flame you for resurecting this thread sorry if it came out that way, good luck from what I remember from that car it flew. But shortly after that it was parted out

I would say no, we used a spal fan kit on his and it was close. The compressor cover is sizably larger and from my 2g I know they are space limited. I know that doesnt completely answer your question sorry again LOL.

I believed you LOL I know better than to question your turbo knowledge. Thats a mitsu chra what did they get sourced from ? A diesel application ?

Most likely a diesel....OEM gasoline applications normally have the water provision to prevent oil coking from heatsoak after you turn off the engine.

The entire TD06 20G platform is a diesel turbo from a Midsized cargo truck.

we built Dry Housing greens and reds, and the Franks series prior to that, (the 1995-1999 period) all on dry bearing housings. People liked the simplification and fast R&R of the turbo. Around 2001, 2002 we went over to wet as the default with dry being an option.

most people bend stock 14b or 16g lines and that works pretty good.

To add to this- if you're installing the Green using water lines on a 1G car, the front water line will have to be an OEM 1G line because of how it attaches to the water pipe just behind the turbo. Many 1G users have found a 2G rear line fits better because it comes up a little higher and seems to clear the Green's compressor cover better.

If installing a Green on a 2G car, your best bet is to use the 2G T25 water lines and bend them slightly for clearance.

next question, i am installing with a new oil line its a flare end and i seem to have it very tight but it still leaks pretty bad, is there some other way of installing this oil line, before i had the 90 elbow that bolted to the turbo and then a ss line that just bolted on to that, now i am using the 90 flare fitting and bolting it up. By the way turbo fits fine with stock manifold and stock fans, denting of the water pipe was necessary however. Please help me with my oiling situation

Maybe a couple of pics of the kind of fitting yr using would help, I cant really visualize the flare you are talking about?

We would normally use a line that has a 12mm banjo fitting and banjo bolt at the turbo end that seals with copper crush washers, not a 90 with a flare?

So if I were to order a green it would be wet with the option of dry?
