Fog Light Assembly Removal Help

I have some after market led fog lights I am trying to install but in order to do this I need to take the oem assembly out but cant seem to figure out how to remove it. There seems to be no room even with the cover off. Can someone help. Pictures would really help

What year model? I have pics of a 2gb (my 99) Eclipse fog lights that I took off if they will help.

Looks like you have a 2G Spyder judging from your profile... The fog lights are actually pretty easy to remove. Remove the black bezels by pulling the screw in the top of them (I'm sure you've done this, but just to be thorough) first... Now if you look at the fog light straight on you will see one bolt to the outside edge of the car that holds the backplate to the car. Once you've removed that, you pull the light toward the outside (left or right depending on which light) of the car to remove it, and once it comes out just d/c the wiring harness. The inside edge of the fog light is actually held in by 2 posts that fit into rubber grommets, so there is just that one bolt to hold it in.

Is the bolt towards the outside of the car a screw? There is a screw towards the outside that I stripped trying to take off its not the adjustment screw that makes the lights point up or down, its one beneath it

I'm sorry, you are right, it's a screw... And yes, probably the one you stripped...

That sucks do you know of any way to take it off without that screw?

No, sorry... Maybe pick up one of those screwdriver bits meant for stripped screw extraction?

Yes that screw is the one on the right (in the ...2gb-1 pic below, ...2gb-2 shows back of it (here shown with bumper off)). It is always rusted in place - a real PITA. I had to eventually take an acetylene torch to get it out (although you might get it with Mapp-oxy or maybe just Mapp but propane will not be hot enough). You'll probably have to drill yours out.

I got lucky with no rust... They were pretty snug, but was able to just muscle it loose without any damage to the screws...

Thanks everyone I managed to get the left one off by taking off the screw under the adjustment screw and then moving it around until it came put, I just have to figure out how to get the other side out now since it stripped the screw
