symptom: car wobbled/shook upon accel (even modest) but only when
going 55+mph

i knew it wasn't the wheels since my near new winter wheels also had
the problem. Alignment was done a few
months back and i don't recall anything happening that coincided w/
the arrival of the symptom. Ignition wires, coils and plugs were recently changed.

fix:
the shop lifted the car to check the axles. The mech shook the driver
front cv axle and it had some bearing play and made a noise, unlike the right side.

car has 115k mi, some of it raceway lapping =). i guess
it's another wear item like the front bearing/hubs i recently replaced!

hey, so did you just replace the axle? or did you have to get new wheel bearings as well? Because mine is doing the same thing. It's still shaking a litttle even after I changed the axle. Although, I think it could be because of the passenger side thats causing that (torn cv boots).
