alright I am almost done pulling this engine out..I have about 5 hours tonight to get it out of the engine bay.

I need some help removing the driveshaft from the transfer case, I dont want to totally remove it so how would I go about doing that..I know I have to first remove the 4 carrier bolts and then what do I unbolt just to get it out of the case I dont want to fully remove it though.

and where should I hook up the cherry picker to the engine so I can pull it out? and what do I need to do it? Do I need to put a strap around the engine to aid it lifting it out of there?

Thanks in advance :dsm:

When I pulled the engine(s) out of my car (three times) I would use the top two bell housing bolts, and then two of the motor mount bracket bolts, I like using a 4 point hoist. If the cherry picker doesnt come with a load leveler/engine sling, you can buy one at Advanced Auto, then go to Lowe's and buy some chain, buy some 1/8" thick metal strip, and various bolts and washers to suffice your needs. I used a drill to make the eyelet holes, and a rotozip to cut the eyelets from the strip, then I threadlocked the washer/nut/bolt things on the eyelets so they dont fall off with my beloved engine on the hoist. Good luck bro, you'll get it!! :thumb:

GOT WOW that was a total PITA..the transfercase kept snaging and lifting the whole car up...kinda crappy since I dont have a paved driveway to work on..other than that..putting it all back in Im sure is going to be a challange..

Engine Pulled..Montana Style LOL :thumb:

those are some wicked awesome jackstands you got there under the door LOL!

There are jackstands more toward the front of car..those blocks of wood are just back up just in case the stupid car falls to the ground which it already has done..
