The only modification the fuel system has is the rewire. Other than the fuel system is stock. A 255 and FPR will be installed eventually but for now can the stock system handle 650cc injectors? The only reason I want to put them in ASAP is I think my stock injectors are fouled/not functioning properly and new injectors may fix some of the issues I am having or at least narrow down the possible culprits.

Thanks for the help :thumb:

I would be less worried about whether the fuel system will handle it, and more worried about how you are going to tune those injectors. 650's with nothing to control them is gonna kill your motor quicker. You are gonna need at least a chip to go with those injectors.

Eventually I will have a S-AFC2 to handle the fuel trims, etc.

So without some sort of fuel management the stock injectors are the only way to go?

Yes, the stock pump can supply 43 psi, plus 1:1 so that you can change out the injectors.

Don't think though that a stock pump will supply a fuel hungry 14b+ at over 15 psi, even if you have 650 injectors.

You can swap the injectors, keep the car "running" and install a upgrade pump later if you want.

Need a SAFC or EpromChip or some type of controller though

Sorry, I should have mentioned that my intention wasn't to slap in big injectors and crank up the boost. :nono:

I'm set at 12-13psi with the 14b and am only considering putting in the 650 injectors because my stockers may be shot plu FIC was running a great special and I couldnt pass it up. :sneaky:

Even with an safc, 650's are right on the edge of what an safc will handle. With 650's you really need a chip or dsmlink. 650's without anything are just gonna dump fuel into your motor and quickly wash your rings and then bearings.

So what do you guys reccomend? One says its ok while other say dont do it. If I dont push the boost and use my datalogger to monitor things, can I use the 650's?

Dude, that really IS the bottom line.

When you asked, I assumed you already HAD some sort of fuel control.

If you have a SAFC, I have some settings that WILL work in your car, but I do not recommend alot of WOT/High Boost messing around.

I used these settings for over 2 years, (I had FIC 650's/SAFC/self tuned) and never had 1 problem.

Until you acquire some sort of fuel control, just installing them with no control is going to cause the car to run like absolute ass.

On a personal recommendation, I would say get a Eprom and a custom chip, then later your already ready to go DSMlink.
I did the SAFC thing, and it does not provide enough control, without alot of weird tuning. The features of a Eprom ECU are amazing.

Good luck.

* I just dug through some of your posts, and honestly if 300 whp is your "ulitmate" goal, get a SAFCII and your good to go. Find a good deal on a 16g and your even closer. Post up some pics in your gallery!!

If you need to replace your injectors ASAP, then I would recommend replacing them with new factory injectors for now. Later, when you have the time/money, invest in an upgraded fuel pump and some type of fuel control system (SAFC or whatever), get familiar with using whatever fuel control system you choose, and THEN buy some bigger injectors and tune them. Hope this helps!:thumb:
