WARNING: this intercooler setup requires cutting and modifications to the front end of the car, it is not compatible with a 100% stock chassis! I can provide details of what customization is needed.
looking at changing my setup here pretty soon to save some space and make any maintenance easier, so my water to air intercooler setup is getting a for-sale-feeler thread.
-Core is the biggest standard core, fill cap welded to top, 4.5x16x11 IIRC.
-Dual pass heat exchanger 2.5x24x8 IIRC.
-2, 10" Ford tranny cooler fans with relays and fuse board.
-16an braided stainless lines and fittings throughout.
-Custom made ~4.5gal aluminum reservoir, mounts roughly where factory intercooler sits.
-Custom stock-frame turbo compressor outlet pipe.
Other misc hardware needed may be included.
The only parts I'm not selling with the kit are the pump and blow off valve, as I plan to reuse them.
For the price listed below, I would include them both and buy new units for my next rendition.
The pump is a Jabsco 50840 low pressure unit, and the bov is a synapse engineering synchronic BOV mounted to the hot side of the intercooler.
The system works very well IMHO. Intake temps after warming up are 10-20⁰ more than ambient max, and under boost with the current turbo (billet wheel small 16g @21psi) intake temps have never gone higher than 135, and always return to just over ambient within 20-30 seconds with pump and fan running. Response is excellent.
Only bad thing is two of the AN fittings weep a little over time, less than 1/2 a quart every 6 months. I attribute this to less than excellent quality fittings on the areas that do weep. Otherwise the system is great.
I can provide pictures of just about everything from when I out it all together.
$600+ shipping/PP without pump and BOV
$900+ shipping/PP with pump and BOV
