So the Friday before last, the day before I was supposed to sell my car, the car started misfiring. It only seems to misfire when warm, which seems to indicate coil issues. I've dumped $7000 into a barely modified 420a with engine/tranny rebuild, car purchase and maintenance overhaul. I have oil "randomly" coming from somewhere and I don't have an adequate shop to find the leak. I feel like I'm just dumping money into this thing for no reason. Its a clean car. Looks nice. Rides nice. Just gives me a damned headache with all the random crap going wrong with it. I've replace all my plug wires, plugs twice, upper O2 sensor... And when I changed the plugs last week the showed signs of running rich. Which baffles me because I've added a header and CAI and haven't tuned it (nor did I think I had to for such minor modifications). If anything shouldn't it be running lean? Should I just cut my losses and take a $1000 trade-in? I'm just so irritated right now that I can't enjoy the car I've been wanting since the late 90s. I finally get my "dream car" only to be plagued by insecurities. What would you guys do?

I drive 60 miles round trip in stop & go traffic with a manual transmission, too. Its amazing driving through the city at night when there's no traffic but my current work schedule is taking me through downtown at rush hour 2x per day. I've been wanting a csrt-4 but I'm reluctant to get rid my my eclipse...

Can you tell the general area where the oil is coming from? Don't give up on the car just yet. I've had very few problems with my n/t and I love it. Point a to point b with no troubles. Every car is going to have its quirks but it all comes down to taking care of it.

Forums bugged for a minute there, LOL. The oil is collecting near the rear of the engine on the passenger side. There was another post on here with the same exact spot where oil was collecting and it turned out to be the cam seals. I assumed it's the cam seals but have just been dumping oil into it until I can afford to get the whole timing belt, water pump, tensioner, and underdrive pulley fund so I can do it all at once. Its just so frustrating when you pay someone to 2 grand to rebuild your engine and then they're not even around to honor their "warranty".

[Edit] This is the same picture the guy used on his thread as an example. The oil is pooling above the bottom of the head.

Hmmm... I was gonna say that I've got a little oil leak from the back of mine on the passenger side to, but I'm like 99% positive its my oil pressure sensor. From what I've been told, they've been know to leak oil there too. I'm doing the same thing though, just checking the oil all the time until I get it fixed.

How expensive is the oil pressure sensor to replace? Didn't sound too bad work wise.

So I replaced my coil today and it didn't fix anything. The wires are new. The plugs are new. Even my old plugs weren't that bad. I just changed them for good measure. I was getting misfire in cylinder 2 yesterday and now I'm getting it in 4. Does this rule out injectors? Hope its not the ecu... but if it were it'd be a misfire all the time, right? Not just when the engine is warm and I'm giving it gas? I'm thinking its the fuel filter since I don't think its ever been changed. At least not in the 5000 miles that I've had it. Oh, and my valve cover gasket is leaking now. So multiple oil leaks is not fun.
