Notice even what you said, when necessary. They pretty much used it as an essential part of drifting. And underpowered cars can still initiate drifts without the ebrake its called inertia. You make the car understeer into corners which the best drifters do. Using the ebrake causes a car to oversteer. Watch the drift bible a couple more times and you will find out how they can make a undered power car initiate a drift. easiest method is clutch kicking it.

Didnt someone say something about people trying to point out even the lamest technical aspects of the movie?....

Who cares...

I liked the movie...more than the other two

the second fast and the furious has too much CG and had a stupid plot just like the first one...

I liked the real drift sceans that they put into the movie instead of CG and not very many riced out cars..."veilside RX7","Evo IX RWD" were my top two favorite cars in that movie..the RB26DETT mustang was ok...nice idea and it is an RB26DETT"Sport Compact Car magazine" and I dont think they had underglow neons when they raced which was a huge plus...which I liked...and the main cars didn't have alot of stickers and overloaded with neons and dvd screens or the overuse of nitrious...which made me like this movie even more...

as for plot, which alot of people said it wasn't strong in this movie...I say "how do you make a movie with street racing or drifing and put a strong plot into it??" I think that is plot fit perfect with the movie and I couldn't imagine a better plot than this one when it comes to drifting, street racing or drag racing etc...8 out of 10

Speaking of clutch kicking, did you notice the footwork of the movie's DK in the first drifting segment. He was clutch kicking during the drifts. Oh and to the moron who started this crap about it not even being real drifting, all of the drifting performed in this movie was performed by the top drivers in D1.

Amen! Who seriously watches car movies for their intriguing plot? ROFL

The engine was an RB26DETT, not a SR20. On the IMDB forum and a few other car forums, I notice two things happening: The hardcore musclecar guys say "How could they put a piece of ricey four-banger sh!t in something as great as a classic Mustang?" and the Import guys say "Why would they put an award-winning turbo engine in something with the handling capabilities of a drunk tortoise?"

A small minority think that there is no way to put the RB into the Mustang, and that the movie producers wouldn't have paid for it when they could have used, and this is verbatim from the guy I had a fight with about it, "movie magic" to make it look like the swap would have been done. Oh well. The car was real. They had a huge budget for cars, and they used it all very well.

Last time I checked the RB26DETT was a Nissan motor.

I saw the movie this weekend. It won't win any oscars or anything, but I had a blast watching it. The acting was pretty bad, but the driving was awesome. I think people that don't like or care about cars will leave the theater disappointed (although, they should've known what to expect), but for car people, it's pretty entertaining.

What's that have to do with anything? A local guy with a 240sx has a Toyota 1JZ engine in his car. People have put Ford V8's in Miatas. Chevy v8 swap into RX7's are common. What's your point?

Well if you watch the movie it makes alot of sense to swap that motor into the mustang, they need a car to run, they dont have one.

They have a wrecked 240 with a RB swap, he has a mustang sitting in his house.....He needs a car fast so why not swap it in.

I really liked it, the 1st movie everyone will agree is rice but everyone liked it. The secound movie was ####en horried and really ### and should never have been made.

This movie is really good and id say much better or on par with the 1st one, I wish the secound movie wasnt so ###.......

Drift king is the fisher man, and the owner of veilside is playing cars in the yokuzo's bar....

It was def better than the other two I think because it had a meaningfull plot. The acting was fine except for bowwow LOL. Def a good movie in my book. Hell just the fact that they drift threw like a billion ppl made it good :rocks:

Yeah, it is. And the domestic guys are wondering why they put a Japanese engine in such a "pristine specimen of American muscle" which is obviously a crime against humanity to them (sarcasm) and the import guys are wondering why waste a perfectly good RB26 by putting it into a lead-sled like the Mustang, since it's obvious that a solid-rear axle isn't the best platform for drifting.

OH and its an RB26DET.. not RB26DETT... i think.... (I only saw one turrbo :p)

Yeah, I suppose if you wanna get technical. :p Apparently the steering column of the Stang would have gotten in the way if they had kept the twins, so they did a big single conversion, which isn't unheard of if they were going for big power. It's what the Supra and RX7 guys eventually switch to anyway.

Not now, John, we gotta get on with the film show.
Hollywood waits at the end of the rainbow.
Who cares what it's about as long as the kids go?
Not now, John, we gotta get on with the show!

ANNND..did anyone notice how sean kept han's memory alive by building an s15 for himself at the end?(though I'd kept the crazy mustang if it was me..)

im sure he gave the car back to his dad so he could put a real motor in it.

thats cause ford owns mazda.

but like i said before, at least the RB26 into mustang had a reason, not like a bunch of ricers looking at this huge big block and saying "how do i t00n a carb with my laptop, #### this, lets put this insane-o 300hp nissan motor in and itll be crazy fast boi". i mean, it was "well, i gotta beat this guy, we have a chassis and a motor, so lets make it work" like something out of monster garage.

Ebrakes and clutching kicking are used by drifters, no its not the FWD snow ebraking.

Watch some in car vids and who ever says you dont clutch kick or use the ebrake will be proven wrong.

Even rally guys use the ebrake, I used to watch WRC all the time but then speed had to get redneck on us.

Watch some D1 vids etc

Soild rear hum, I wonder what car everyone loves to drift in throey wouldnt be good.....

Its white and black and in a cartoon.

Personally I was offended by the first two Fast and Furious movies.Put aside the fact that they couldnt get any farther from reality. They depicted street racers as thieves, drug dealers, and morons. I only know one street racer that was a criminal........and he is locked up.Its been my experiance that street racers are one of two things.1)Born with a silver spoon in thier mouth......or........2) A hard working man or woman with a normal job.Now.............I understand that these movies are made to entertain people, and I also understand that they would not make as much money if they didnt stretch the truth. But just once I would like to see a movie about racing that was at least semi-accurate.
As far as the third Fast and Furious...... I had not planned on watching it 'till I read all your comments about how it was better than the first 2 movies.I am not much of a drift fan.(its not that I dont like drifting, its just that Im no good at it.LOL) I just dont like being labeled as a thug because I like to race in the streets instead of a track.Just my personal opinion.

^^^i dont know dude. i went to a few of the "organized" streetracing events, and theyre pretty much dead on with FnF1's depiction, except for the 4 way. you had your cholo'd out mexicans over here, lean-back homies over there, asians with their girls in that corner, and the actual fast cars getting ready. though they didnt race for 2 miles, nor was there a dominick turetto of the group. man i miss those days, too bad i didnt have money then for a badass car to spank them all, cause if i remember the fastest guys out there were a 01 cobra(which was still the big thing back then, like the 03/04's now) and a S2K.

and youre only labeled a thug by how much gangsta lean you have when you drive, and how much your car rattles from underpowered 15" subs.
