I didn't take the movies too close to heart or to heart at all, as I said I've only seen the first one once, I'm basically indifferent to them. I replied because last night there were three threads going on about the movie, so I read them and posted my opinion on this one, which is that they probably do more harm than good.

Eclipsei95cl-

I see your point about gun movies, your probably right, my point is that I don't want laws over-regulating cars similar to the gun control laws we have now, i.e. background checks before a certain person can buy a certain car. I don't want them to make a movie about guys working on cars, I just don't want them to make a movie.

I wanna see it, and dont do it no more....I hate haters

I saw it today with my girlfriend, girlfriend liked it better than the 2nd but the 1st one is still the best in her opinion. I think the 1st one is still the best too.

The only problem I had is....not enough variety in the cars...seemed like it was 350z galore in the movie. Though I'm glad the Evolution was in the movie and no WRX/STi!

I have a bad feeling we will see an increase in accidents from retards trying the stunts in this movie.

Did ANYONE else cring at the fact they completely ####ed 4 or more new EVO's to make those scenes where he was learning how to drift? :barf:

Overall I loved the movie and they should have done this in the first movie. Acting and plot was so much better than the first and second. Looked much more artistic than "vin on roids" and "stupid pin up lines."

Anyone else think it was pretty stupid how in the construction site race scene there was a truck full of football crackheads and a hot wanna be cheerleader telling the two cars to launch when they were probably no more than a hundred feet in front of them? I was hoping they would have jacked that truck in the rear end :tease: . As for the boy from Home Improvement, his acting was horrid :beatentodeath: and I guess thats why he had such a short part haha.

So how much does a 67 fastback w/ a nissan motor and quick spooling turbo go for nowadays? LOL

Especially loved seeing some drift circuit stars in the movie. Made it that much more enjoyable with less CG.:rocks:

P.S. Enjoy ;)

i liked it, barely better than the first, WAY better than the 2nd...the drifters' and vin's cameos were nice touches, ANNND..did anyone notice how sean kept han's memory alive by building an s15 for himself at the end?(though I'd kept the crazy mustang if it was me..)

Movie was much better than the previous 2.

Feel kinda sorry for those EVO's that got destroyed :|

One of the best parts is when he is in the police station and watching the replay of the video and goes "can I have a copy of that?"

Anyway I give it 8 out of 10.

I agree it was much better then the 1st and 2nd. this one was actually decent. the plot was somewhat decent this time around.

check out this to learn about each car in the movie. and yes the rb26dett motor was really dropped into that mustang. funny thing is once you watch the below link youll see the monte carlo in that movie was the fastest out of all those cars. edmunds got it to run 12.0 @ 119mph. the DK 350z did 13.2 @ 114, and the others were only 14 second cars LOL

that veilside rx7 does look sweet tho damn..

I'd have to agree with the whole. Definitely better than the first 2. Plot was better, characters were better, acting was better.

The read the brochure line was great, as was "can I get a copy of that".

I did like Vin Diesel's cameo.

Drifting scenes were cool looking.

Cars were MUCH better.

But it does suck that more people will try to drift their cars (especially ones that aren't meant to drift) in places where they shouldn't. It'll bring a lot more negative attention to the scene as far as the public goes... rats.

All in all, worth seeing, though.

I see one good thing to come out of this movie, and that is they finally found a director adn crew with some knowledge of the cars and the actual sport that was the basis of this movie. I say keep this guy around if they are going to keep making these movies. Also did anybody notice that when wrecked the evo on the dock it broke the spoiler to it, then a couple of scenes later it had the same damage to it. That was pretty sweet considering usually they would have the car being perfect again. Just one part of the movie where they actually paid attention to detail. I give it an 8-10 for entertainment and a 6-10 for realism in the mechanical department.

Edit: What is up with the F & F series and mopar? 1) Blown Hemi powered 68 charger 2) 71 challenger 3) viper, srt 10 ram, and vin's 67-68 road runner

How come you didn't say wazup with the fast and furious and mitsubishi? (eclipse, evo x2) :)

I like the Toyota Chaser. Like I said before movie was 8 out of 10. I think they left it open for a fourth. Who Knows??

I was really surprised how good th emovie was, you expect it to be bad and are surprised what a comeback it makes from the previous dissapointment. Its funny how they show em putting the mustang together in a day or something, in real life it took months. Vin for teh win!

Check on eBay soon ROFL

Live action for the win! :thumb:

I severely cringed when the first few cars were wrecked, didn't really react when the Veilside RX-7 was killed ### Hans was pretty cool and it sucked to see him die :(

Okay, now my two cents.

I am in the process of selling my 1992 TSi to finance a 1999 GSX. It has all the fun mods like a 16g, EVO VIII pistons, Fuel Management, et al. This car taught me what it means to wrench a on a car. What it means to go really, really fast for relatively cheap. And also what it means to make a Mustang or Camaro owner really, really furious.

This movie, and the others of its ilk, while they do make others interested in our hobby, do so in a way that creates ignorance and simple stupidity. For example, I woke to the sound of my ringing phone today and spoke to what had to be a 15 year old kid. As I was talking about the modifications I'd made, he kept interrupting, so I just let him talk instead. What he said was so utterly incomprehensable that I asked him to hold on a second (so I could turn on the recording function of my cell phone) and capture forever this glittering jewel of dumb:

"...16G? 16 inch tires?? All you need is a SUPERCHARGED COMPUTER CHIP and you MIGHT make some power, doooooode..."

The Fast and the Furious Franchise Supercool Tokyo Drift movie can kiss my cat's ass. With each one, the uninitiated get stupider, the informed get more insenced at its inaccuracies, and it drags the whole hobby down, not just the world of DSMs.

I bet that kid will be first in line to see this movie once it gets to his hometown theater. Once he gets his first civic (and it WILL be a damn civic) the first thing he will get is a wing, second will be neon damn lights, third, the biggest fart can he can afford, and fourth, he will get his ass handed to him by someone who was too busy wrenching on his DSM to watch this hollywood tripe. Like me.

How about all of you? :sneaky:

I think it's ridiculous that they can't get a 430whp car to go faster than 13.2 when a stock 320 hp LS1 car will do the same.

haha they pulled a 14 in the evo....a bone stock evo 9 can pull off a high 12 bone stock......

LOL

Thats with awd :) This evo was rwd.

The ls1 might be rated at 320hp but it will put 320 or more to the ground stock :thumb:

As with every Fast and Furious movie car, all of them have had some traumatic engine ownage. Sure, those cars probably ran a full second faster when they were freshly built. Think about how badly these cars were raped during the filming process. Remember the single turbo supra in the second movie with something like a t88? The best SCC could get out of it was a 14 sec 1/4.

it exceeded my expectations. i thought it would be a waste of time, but i loved the driving scenes. it wasnt all about talking and blah blah like the 2nd one. The first i still feel has the best plot, but this was the best overall in driving i thought

I think the movie as a movie was decent. Everything about racing and drifting was completely wrong. They didn't drift correctly at all. They USED THE EBRAKE?!?! REAL DRIFTERS DON'T USE THE EBRAKE AT ALL.

The coolest part of the movie was that it showed a cameo of the Real Drift King Keiichi by the docks when he was learning how to drift as well as Vin Diesel.

I did like the fact that they show people how difficult it is to learn to drift and that they can crash a LOT and damage their car and not to be retards about it. But even after that I bet there will still be tons of tards crashing their cars trying to drift. I didn't really like the story line. I thought that the hick as a main character was horrible. I would have perfered more of a NY person or someone who is actually been in the hood.

HAHA, that's a good one...you are WRONG my friend. I have watched enough option d1 dvd's and enough formula d and yes Pros use the ebrake when necessary. How do you think the guys with the underpowered ae86's initiate the drifts?

Notice even what you said, when necessary. They pretty much used it as an essential part of drifting. And underpowered cars can still initiate drifts without the ebrake its called inertia. You make the car understeer into corners which the best drifters do. Using the ebrake causes a car to oversteer. Watch the drift bible a couple more times and you will find out how they can make a undered power car initiate a drift. easiest method is clutch kicking it.
