okay i did some research and found a couple things but i just dont understand how to wire this.

i bought a switch and it has 3 prongs, load, ground, and power.

i have mishimoto fans. but one was replaced with a fan from autozone.

my right fan works fine ( if your sitting in the driver seat ) but the left one wont come on now. when it was put in ( about 3 months ago ) it worked fine. but now im pretty much just over the fan issues. i want to rewire them myself to a manual override switch

i know its recommended to just fix it elsewhere but i would really prefer to just manually override it. so can sombody just give me a sure-fire way to wire them so that when i flip the switch "on" both fans in fact come on immediately.

also, i know what 'power' and 'ground' on the switch are. but what is the 'load' tab. some switches had it, some didnt. i just got this one cause it could handle more power. but it has the 'load' prong on it and i dont know what that is for

thanks for all the help everyone :hellyeah:

btw i have a 2g eclipse

The load would be the accessory you are trying to power up. this case it'll be the fans. i urge you to reconsider the bypassing the fans to a switch, in the event that you might forget to turn them on and risk blowing a head gasket or overheating. instead ,why dont you put a jumper wire in where the fan relay goes in the relay panel to activate the fan when the key is forward. and put the second fan on the switch you want to wire in . that way you have a fan running full time and if you want or need you can flip the second one on . and you can also use the second one with the car on or off. just a thought

thats actually a better idea. the reason im overheating is because i need the one that comes on with your ac, to come on otherwise. the one fan by itself isnt doing enough cause my manifold gets too hot. so im wrapping my manifold in exaust wrap. and if i could wire the a/c one into my ignition like you said. that would solve my problem as well. thanks for the advice

could you please explain a little more in depth how to wire it when the key is forward, im having unusual difficulty understand fan wiring. LOL. which is driving me crazy cause its only 2 wires.

I think this would work for what you want to do.

Scroll down about halfway till you get to a post by luv2rallye with pictures of a dpdt switch and a diagram. Just follow that. I did this in my car and it works perfect and when the switch is in the middle the computer still controlls the fans and the up position is just one fan on low and the down position is both fans on high so no matter what atleast one fan is always on so you dont have to worry about overheating.
