Hey guys, my new spyder has the factory radio still in the car and the radio when you cut it on all its says is codE, what is the code to reset the radio? I have a radio to go in the car, but I am waiting on the wiring harness from the radio, to come in to install it. I searched the forums for this and all I could find is what to do after you put the wrong code in.

Usually the code is on the back of the owners manual, has been for me on the last couple of cars I've gotten

as said usually it is in the manual. if it is not or you don't have the manual, you will have to contact a dealer. if i remember correctly, you will have to pull the radio and get the code from the top of it. call the dealer with the code and you will have to give your vin as well.
they should be able to give it to you over the phone, however, depending on the dealer they may want you to bring the car in.

if you have thought about it, it may be a good time to upgrade as well...

I do know that going to an aftermarket radio is not an easy task if you have the factory infinity amp in the car. They do make a harness that will allow an aftermarket radio to connect to the amp and utilize it but I was told that it doesnt sound very good. The other option is to rerun the wiring straight to the speakers.

Like the other posters have said though any mitsubishi dealer should be able to give you a code, although some may want to charge you a fee for it. Just keep calling different service department until you get one that will help you out over the phone. I will say that some of the codes are the same as other eclipses and my code is 0646 on a 95 gsx. Good luck on getting the radio working.

I don't think it sounds to bad. I have a pioneer head unit with the harness your talking about, it was easy to use to.

This is the harness you'll need, I found it at a local pawn shop that deals with car audio. Cost 15 bucks.

all you have to do is call mitsubishi with the radio sn and car sn on hand. tell them you are looking for a radio code and then they will ask you for the vin number, then the radio, just write the code down and then keep it in your glove box/console.

Hey I know I’m digging up an old thread on here but I’m in a bit of a pickle. So the stock radio I have is exactly like the guy 99eclipse420’s radio where it says codE when you turn it on. Although the radio I have is not the radio that came in my car from the factory, I bought it off of a guy on FB Marketplace. I tried entering the 4 digit code at the back of my owners manual like the thread says to do but it wasn’t the correct code and now says oFF, (which is another thread I read how to fix.) but what I need to know is do I need to enter the code of the car that the radio was pulled from or did I just mess something up?

You need to enter the code that came with the radio you got from the FB Marketplace (not your owners manual which is for a different radio). But first disconnected the radio completely (unplug everything) for 5 minutes to let it reset and bring back the codE display next time it's plugged in. If you didn't get the code, you just bought a boat anchor.
