I believe i have a manifold leak and i would like to know what it could cause, I say so because the manifold is held to the block by i believe 9 bolts and i am missing 2 of them.

The manifold is bolted to the head, not the block. A pre-turbo exhaust leak will decrease the efficiency of your turbo, mainly in spool up.prophecy7115 said:I believe i have a manifold leak and i would like to know what it could cause, I say so because the manifold is held to the block by i believe 9 bolts and i am missing 2 of them.
Iam sorry to the head, thank you for all the replies, I will get that fixed as soon as possible.oldman said:The manifold is bolted to the head, not the block. A pre-turbo exhaust leak will decrease the efficiency of your turbo, mainly in spool up.
RossY said:You will probably experience a decrease in the performance of the car as the air that should be going into the engine is leaking out of the manifold. This will cause you to run slightly richer, and also may affect your idle slightly.

I got a broken stud in the head which sucks because i will need to buy that stud removal tool. I also was leaking exhaust fumes through my manifold til i did a quick temp fix which was just put high temp sealant where it was leaking and which is working pretty good.
They sell a set of Craftsman at Sears. It really is a good tool to have, especially if you do a lot of mechanical work. And they are also relativly cheap.danny_l_2005 said:the one that uses a special drill bit to drill out broken studs inside the head. i think they sell it in autozone
thats a good idea, i sent my head to a machien shop to fix the studs, got it back when i put the manifold on i put it on hand tight and with a 1/4 turn with the ratchet it snapped. its only 1 stud but its on the corner,
