evo motor in a laser

ok i got a 91 rs laser n/t an i just got a 2002 evo motor 4g63 with 16g turbo.. i got the harness, ecu, all i need is the intercooler an pipein... but what im wonderin is will it fit let me kno asap... thank you

What year did they stop using the 4G63 in the EVO? I've got a magazine that has a 9 second 1000HP EVO in it, and it calling the motor a 4g63

EDIT: The magazine is called "D Sport". I got it at walgreens yesterday while waiting on my prescriptions to be filled.

The current EVO 9 still uses the 4G63. But starting with the EVO X due to come out later in 2008 the new aluminum block motor will be used. The engine code will be 4B11T.

I thought the N/T motors had the same orientation as the current EVO's but maybe I am wrong. Really not very familiar with the N/T motors.

Thats what I was thinking, I think people didnt read the op's original post.

Yes the 2g N/T (420a) does have the transmission on the drivers side BUT if you read the original post, he has a 1g. Both the 1.8 and the 2.0 n/t have the transmission on the passenger side.

The motors are called the same name but are not the same. Confusing huh?

It can be done BUT how much knowledge do you have and how good are you with fabrications. To me it looks better if you dont buy this engine and buy a Eclipse 4g63T because it would a much more easier to drop in. EVO engine is not hard to put in, you just have to have the proper tools for fabrication and some help of a friend. Ofcourse, the car will be far more unrealiable.
