I searched but couldn't find the answer I needed. I saw an install guide for an evo 8 fuel pump (similar in flow to a wal 190) in a 2g and I was wondering if the same thing would work for a 1g. Are there any guides on how to install or is it pretty similar to the 2g?

Have you guys looked up Walbro installation walkthroughs for the 1G and 2G and done a side-by-side comparison? Therein lies an indication of what you're facing with an EVO pump.

One other thing is when you purchase a walbro fuel pump it comes with the wire connector to the pump for easy installation, your evo 8 fuel pump will not have this.
So you will need to make a small harness consisting of wires with spade connectors on one end to plug into the fuel pump spade terminals, then cut off your power and ground ring terminals and splice them into the other end of your wire harness you made.

When doing the evo 8 fuel pump install on a 2g it is more simplified because the evo8 and 2g fuel pumps use a newer denso unit that has the same fuel pump connector and plug.
