Evo 8 Brake Upgrade?

With enough money a lot of things are possible.

Can you do it economicly compared to buying a kit from Todd or BAER? Not likely.

The biggest problem I would have if I were to, would be the necessity of buying 18" rims and the tires to match.

Evo's have 17" wheels. You would just have to make sure you have enough offset in your wheel choice to clear the calipers.

Good question. I guess it would be more of a flambouant upgrade more a less a cheap one. That car is such a weapon on the street any parts from it i can install on my car i feel is well worth it. In the end it would be pretty nice to have Evo8 brakes on a DSM.

Thats what I was wondering. Which rotors do you need to use the Evo breaks? And if it all bolts up hah I know what patch im gona take when I get around to the breaks

it bolts up front and rear??? if so i am heading to the junk yard asap. theres been at burn e8 for quite sometime brake still there untoched.

no way, i cant see this bolting up at all. pics from behind calipers?

Can you give me some details on swapping the rears? Is it as simple as getting the caliper, rotor and the brake line?

You just take your old caliper , rotors pads out and put brembo in. That's it. You need trim the dust plate.

I just get PM from dsmtuners member. He wrote"I just talked to someone on EvoM and he told me that the Evo 8 Brembo's fit on the US Galants 8th gen (99-03) and 9th gen 04-07)." I am glad to hear that. Thanks

yes the calipers do bolt up to the knuckles BUT the knuckles dont work on a 2g. the suspension between hte two cars are different.

someone please confirm the part number for the knuckles needed in order for the Evo calipers to bolt up the the knuckles and bolt on to the 2g suspension system. the part number MR369425 and MR369426 that were given in another thread for the knuckles arent recognized by the dealer. they say the computer changes the part number to MR223628 and MR223629. they are listed at 330 a piece. i also have the part numbers for the evo knuckles, MR554421 and MR554422. can someone please clarify the RIGHT part # for the knuckles so they can bolt up to the 2g.

Ok, so I am extremely interested in this...if it is going to be under $700 for front two. I have the Sept. 1989 eagle Talon Tsi AWD and No ABS. Why do I specify you ask? It is soo hard to find brakes for this beast that match year and abs, especially ss lines. so, what do I need to do this with? any and all help is greatly appreciated.
