evo 8 16g on a 2g

I know there is a thousand threads on this subject, and I know everyone will tell you to sell the turbo and get a evo III 16g, but my question is would it be possible to just swap hot sides from another 16g to make this turbo work on a 2g manifold?

Ps. This question was asked already but never answered, and I did not buy the turbo but if I can do this I will buy it. Its only a 100 bucks. Thanks guys for the reply's in advance

No.

The Evo VIII turbo rotates the opposite direction. If you were install an Evo III turbine housing on the Evo VIII turbo, the airflow would be hitting the rear of the turbine inducer tips instead of the front. In other words, it would "deflect" off the wheel instead of being "cupped" into it.

The turbos are $100 in good used condition for a reason. They ONLY FIT EVO VIII's.

I did not know that it only spun one way. I thought it was just backwards and needed a hotside because of the o2 housing and flange. Thank you for clearing this up for me you saved me money
