Evil gauges?

Man, no wonder why everyone says dsm'ers are cheap skates. 3 gauges for $100 is very very cheap. Even for 1 gauge that isn't a bad deal.
All my gauges cost over $100+ new.
$130 for my boost gauge
$125 for my water temp
$155 for my oil pressure

All Stri dsd SLM II gauges.

Ha, my thoughts exactly. Leave it to a DSMer to complain that $100 is expensive for 3 electronic gauges (no wonder we get a bad wrap). I don't consider $100 expensive for one electronic gauge. Unless everyones complaining because its an unknown brand but even still for 3 electronic gauges, if their half descent that actually seems damn cheap to me. Hell all my electonic gauges have been closer to the $200 mark. Guess thats what happens when anyone can afford one of these cars now ROFL

No wonder the model specific aftermarket support is dying for these cars

This is why ebay is a bad influence. people see cheap turbos, gauges, whatever and think that is the norm and everything else is expensive. their is a reason things are cheap on ebay...its made with very cheap labor with very low quality standards. and no 33 bucks for 1 gauge OR 3 for $100 is very cheap but i dont know about most of you but i want things that wont fail in my car. i personally have no problem paying $150-250 per gauge.

I like them as long as they arent tinted to bad. I have the prosport blue ones that I cannot see at all during they day!! Def. Will not be buying tinted ones again. Nothing against prosport bc they make clear ones just wish they did it in blue. But good find on the gauges

Edit: Just saw that prosport actually discontinued the blue only and have them in blue/white. Maybe just maybe....

You are insanely cheap if you think these gauges seem expensive. Seems like an extremely good deal for the kind of technology in these gauges. I had a set of HKS DB Chrono meters that i loved and had almost same features, those were over $200 each plus the controller... But then again thats HKS for you. Is this company still in business or is this a blowout of whats left? Their website is no longer up and other sites list them for about $150 each. If i needed gauges id pick these up right now.

yea i hate the glowshift name and logo, so its nice that they aren't that big on the gauge.

check the seller's store for the EVIL gauges, they have a deal for 2 gauges for $60-ish, but if its not there, just keep checking back.

Thanks for the follow-up. I emailed them and recieved in part, this:
"Just to let you know first, we are sold out oil pressure, volt, boost and air fuel.

Thank you for your understanding.

Streetmade
"

Somewhat ridiculous that they're out of anything useful, but I'll be patient.

EDIT: Follow-up:
"Hi

We are sorry. We aren't sure when are we going to have the item in stock.

Thank You.

I'll join in and say that I think it's a very good price for some tasteful looking gauges. My prosport gauges cost more than that and I can't imagine how much some spend on Defi gauges. As for being smoked, my prosport ones are smoked but they have a white led during the day that I can see perfectly fine and they go orange when I turn on my lights, matches my factory gauges almost perfectly.

Same deal as with the greddy guages, same function. After using the egt guage and various others, I will say that yes, even at $100 you are getting your moneys worth with all the cool factor and functions it does.
But if your not into Paul Walker's oh look my cars all lit up type, or even give a crap about what your cars doing, like overheating, or boost ect, then pass these up and look at your logs.

to you it maybe bad influence, to others it exposes how much some stuff are over priced. technology for some of these things don't take a genius to design. short shifters, radiator/fmic cores and piping, mechanical gauges, and electronics? come on, these have been around for years. hardly if any moving parts. the only thing it seems like is not consistent are the turbos, everything else has been proven to work well or better than some expensive brands.

you just have to know what you are buying.. OR wait for a brave soul to test it for everybody ;)

This is true, however many of the cheaper brands cut corners to offer things that cheap. That and the fact that some of these overnight companies wont be there when the part fails. At least the larger companies have staying power so you can at least argue with them when it fails.LOL That said larger companies almost always charge for their name and not so much what you actually get. There are risks either way, I suppose. Just less with the more well know companies.

Im not gonna lie those gauges do look nice and at the price not too bad either for some defi knock offs BUT as stated before whats going to happen when you pop those in and your luck it happens to be the shitty set that don't work then what?:hmm:
