Since I've bought this car, the clutch has felt a bit worn out, but it's been driving fine, no issues. Well, a few days ago, I pulled up to a stop light, and then when the light turned green, I let off the clutch and heard a terrible vibrating noise from the front of the car, and it shook pretty hard. It shifts fine, and still DRIVES okay other than the noise/vibration. Oddly enough, it doesn't seem like there's a problem when I'm in reverse- only first. When I'm in gear, if I hit the gas, there does seem to be a small thunk from the front of the car, which makes me believe it could be a motor or trans mount. However, the fact that it doesn't seem to have a problem with reverse just makes it more confusing. Any ideas?

My 1g does that too.. Both of my roll mounts are worn terribly.. Pop the hood and see if you can rock the motor front and back.. If you have any movement you found your problem.

Better yet, get at it with a pry bar. Sometimes brute force isn't enough.
