engine shaking...and car running like crap please help

well After saving up for two years i had finally got my 1 gen tsi.. today while driving on the highway it was running fine.. Then all of a sudden it just started running like shit and like chuggin along... SO i pulled over couldnt see anything wronge so i started it back up again and kept it slow until i reached the next exit. the car right now sounds like it has a wrx boxer engine in it. The engine is shaking like rocking back and forth. I took off the timing belt cover and it didnt snap or anything like that. I unplugged the wire from the spark plug while it was running and it shocked me .... so i guess im getting spark. ive tried the search option and some of the people has said it could be the spark plugs and wire.. and other have said it could be the balance belt...should i just try cutting the balance belt off and see what that does i mean i need to have it changed anyway. how safe is it to drive with out it.? thanks ahead of time for any input.

a b/s belt wont make the motor chug.turbo DSMs are known for eating plugs and wires,I change plugs every 10,000 miles

Pull the plugs and see what they look like. It sounds like a car with poor timing, but if your timing jumped you probably would have bent valves, which is unlikely if it still runs.

Got the bad news thing still runs weird under 2500, no codes... No knock, timing and o2 voltage are good all the way to redline.. the oil sprocket was off 2 teeth.... and here are my compression numbers 30,140,140,150... this sucks

btw it has no oil on the plug

that cylinder with 30psi is your problem,head gasket.

yea i didnt even think about that....if it was the rings the spark plug prolly would of had oil on it... and i would be blowing crazy smoke right?
