Hello,

I have a 98' eclipse GS STOCK. When car is cold, and turn on ignition, car turns on and is on the 300rpm mark and car is shaking, sounding like its going to stall. So I always have to push the gas a little to push it to the normal RPM's that it should be at idle.

Also, when the car is finally on, while the car is warming up, the RPMS are moving from 1000-1300rpms for a good 45 seconds before it stops.

What can fix both problems?

ya, my idle surges when my idle air controller went, its like 40 bucks for a new one and you can replace it without removing the tb. As far as the low idle at extreme cold that's usually an o2 sensor on its way out

its most likely the idle controlle valve but i do know that i had a vacume leak from the idle control screw and that caused a harsh and random idle and the rough start up like the guy above me said sounds like an o2 sensor

The o2 sensor does nothing at start up... So if anything it has to be the idle air control valve . Or the coolant temperature sensor, those accept the start up.
