Hello all, I just recently purchased a 1g Talon TSI with a known bad starter and exhaust leak. Ive searched everywhere on this forum but many of the problems dont fully address mine enough. My question is to diagnose if the prroblem that has been occuring recently is due to either one of these problems that I wiwll fix soon or is another I do not know about. Recently when I start the car (hot start) it will bog on the RPM's like it is going to die and the engine check light comes on. This will happen until I either blip the throttle for a while or start driving. As soon as that happens that car will run perfectly, idle just fine and have no real performance lag. My question is do you think this would be due to the exhaust leak of some sort? It sounds like at times it gets a bogged start and therefore cannont decently get reved up. The bad starter is the typical stratching style and I hope to replace that soon. Any help would be much appreciated as once this is fixed this car would be MINT :coy:

Your turbo creates enough back pressure so that an exhaust leak should not effect anything, unless the leak is before the turbo. I say that you should have your check engine light (CEL) checked. Then fix the problem, and if you are not sure what to do report back to this same thread and someone would be gald to help.

Your car idles rough when you start it and when you hit the gas it runs normal. My car does the same thing just with out all your other problems and no check engine light. I asked this question to somewhere before and got the responce it was my sparkplugs. I have NGK BPR7ES Spark Plugs and they said said that those spark plugs hate starting cold. Something about 1degree colder. Maybe someone can verify this or tell let me know I was lied to haha?

I will have to do that then. Should be able to get the engine light checked out this coming weekend. ill report back with what I find :thumb:
