Okay guys I need some help. Im in the same problem as every other 420A owner I want power but dont want a GST or GSX. So these are my options I can only do one this summer. I can rebuild my engine with forged internals and all the goodies and have a bullet proof engine that can handle anything. I can do that this summer but then I have to wait to get the turbo kit next summer. And i will be running lower compression pistons for the turbo kit in the future. So if i rebuild my engine this summer it will be a bad engine but I will probably have less power than stock because of the lower compression. But then next summer I can slap on a Stage 2 turbo kit and be flying pushing like 15 pounds of boost with no worries. Or I can get a Stage 2 turbo kit now without any internals and run what they say is safe like 8 pounds of boost. It will be fast but I just dont want to get stuck with a blown up engine from the turbo kit because then I got nothing. But I could always get the turbo and do that this summer and then do the rebuild next summer If I feel the need for more power which I know I will. I am just lazy and dont want to rebuild my engine because its a huge job and I dont have much time this summer. So someone Please help me!! Or someone with a Stage 2 turbo kit on there stock engine tell me how it is and if you are terrified of blowing it up. :thumb:

Sorry i forgot to tell you guys this my engine has 85,000miles on it But no problems at all

hmm well if you wanna run 15 psi off the bat you'll have have to rebuild your engine. You could rebuild with forged stock compression pistons, that way your engine wouldn't be all that weak. To tell you the truth I think stock compression is the best compression ratio for decent boost. I'm running 10.5:1 right now and it runs good.

I say if your engine is in good condtion like 200+ psi on every cylinder then just buy the stage II kit and be happy with it for a year. And if you want more power then after a year upgrade to forged internals.

remember if you wanna go higher in boost you'll have to upgrade injectors too. That'll involve upgrading to a SFMU, SAFC,etc... so expect to spend more also.
