Well upon driving to school the other day I was stuck in traffic and I went to get going again from a stop when suddenly my clutch pedal started acting up. It felt like I couldn't push it all the way to the floor...almost as if something was blocking it. To top it off, I couldn't get into first gear either. I was getting frantic because I was holding up my lane of cars. After shutting the car off, I started it back up and then I pushed in the clutch pedal with all my might and grinded into 1st and got going. Needless to say I had to go home immediately. It was extremely hard getting into any gear. I had to literally force the gears to go in. Upon reaching home I got out of the car and there was the faint smell of my clutch burning. When the car is off I can shift through the gears with no problem or resistance. Also when I push the clutch pedal in with the car off, it makes this odd...I guess...clicking noise. Anyone have an idea of what it could be? I searched around and it sounds like a clutch fork or throwout bearing problem. Is that accurate? And are these tough/expensive parts to replace (like does the whole tranny have to come out?). I really hope it's not my clutch. I just had it put in last summer. (though I have been to the track a few times since then) Thanks for the help though...
