i never understood that thread :p

but ok so i just loosen both tps bolts and just rotate it manually till i get a good idle?

i didnt see any info oh how to do it manually as you mentioned.

anyone online here know how to adjust the TPS on a 2g? My multimeter broke and i just learned i adjusted it to a 1g..

k, yeah you basically slide that bracket to tighten or loosen the cable and it will adjust the idle.

here is a full right up on a how to

http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/newbie-forum/324431-how-adjust-throttle-position-sensor-tps.html

i didnt use a volt meter on mine, i basically made it as tight as possible without revving at idle, i did it manually and listened and used the tach to tell me the tension.

Derek, it sound like you are talking about adjusting the throttle cable, not the TPS, although the link that you posted is for the TPS. Sam, follow the instructions that Steve listed on the thread that Derek linked: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/newbie-forum/324431-how-adjust-throttle-position-sensor-tps.html. It is not nearly as simple as it is on a 1g.

Does anyone have a boost leak tester that I may be able to use for a day or so I am finally getting around to checking this thing out fully. The plugs were done guy had autolite platinums in it so out went those and in went the ngk plugs but Im still having some issues with the throttle stumbling so Im thinking I have a boost leak which wouldnt suprise me with the clamps that are on this thing.

I have a boost leak tester on the east side but I won't be available to help until the end of next week. They are very cheap and easy to make as long as you have access to an air compressor.

got it fixed =] i work at autozone so i was matching my seal and found one thanks anyways

wow theirs more dsmr's now so when are we going to meet???!!!

.

yeah thats why i asked if he was adjusting his idle, ### that would go with throttle cable LOL but i guess i got confused in there somewhere.

okay ill make this really easy, everyone vote which day of the week they wanna meet up (easiest for them). And a chill place ie, whataburger, dairy queen chick fila etc. Then i will go to the places and talk to the managers and see if we do a weekly meet. Usually if we go in and buy something the places are real cool with us being there.

once we get everyone to chime in we can get a weekly/monthly meet. and ill even start looking into setting up a cruise. im thinking something like transmountain for pics and cruise around town and have lunch at a park and bbq.

Hook me up with some parts!!!!! LOL. You got it fixed, lets cruise then!

its random sometimes its high like around 1200 then others it will drop to like 200 or 300 barely running. and sometimes when I leave a light it will fall on its face and then take off like a bat out of hell. A buddy that has been in the dsm scene says it sounds like a boost leak. Which wouldnt suprise me with the shape these regular hose clamps are in LOL. I am slowly replacing them from work with t clamps. oh yeah and im on ft bliss. you can call or text me at 845 667 6412

I found this info:

1. Disconnect the connector of the TPS.
2. Connect ohm meter between terminals 3 and 4.
3. Insert a feeler gauge with thickness 0.45mm (.0177 in.) between the throttle stop and the throttle lever.
[Fold a piece of paper in half 4 times if you don't have the feeler -Ed.]
4. Loosen the TPS mounting bolts. Turn the TPS all the way counter
clockwise.
5. Check for continuity in this condition.
6. Slowly turn the TPS clockwise until the point where continuity and
non-continuity is found (pins 3 and 4).
7. Tighten the TPS mounting bolts.
8. Check the voltage between pins 2 and 4 of the TPS with the ignition
switch on, but the engine not started.
9. Standard value: 400 - 1000 mV
10. Remove the feeler gauge.

What should the voltmeter read for terminals 3 and 4 on full throttle and closed throttle on the 2g.

and for pins 2 and 4 they should be #9? thanks :)

well guys this is how my engine bay looks now on my blue gst
