Hey guy's i decided to sell my car now. i dont have any time for it anymore sad to say. the car has been setting for month and the battery went dead. if anybody is interested let me know. im asking 3,500 for it. also going to put the car on ebay to how that goes.. the car has alot of goodies in it and run's strong..

I posted it on the other thread but I'm going to the track next Sunday, May 15th if anyone else wants to go too.

*EDIT - I was wrong on the date, it's going to be May 22nd. If they have times on Fridays I can go now. Let me know if you find out.

just spoke to vic over at the track, all r invited for the 1st points series race on may 14th at the el paso motorplex.

according to vic with the new improvements the track is now IHRA certified, which means that all rules apply. (yes helmets, safety ect)

gates open at 2pm
time trials 330pm to 6pm
630pm dash for cash
7pm eliminations
they have several classes but for most of us, the street class is 45.00 with a 300.00 1st place and a 100.00 second place

spectators are 10.00 military is 8.00 kids under 12 are free..
part of the proceeds are for the john wayne foundation.

Now. also with permission of the track, on june 24th(friday) we have a dragnite brag nite going on.

rules: street cars only..(daily drivers, non fully built drag/racecars)
heads up racing run what u brung, 20.00 entry into the competition plus whatever they charge at the door on fridaynites.
of that 20.00, half goes to the winners pot the other half goes to buying food for the grill which we will do at the track, any money left will go back into the pot.
slicks and nitrous can be ran however, how the car enters the gates is how it must stay. no retuning, jet changing, etc. WITH THE EXCEPTION OF CHANGING BOTTLES OR SLICKS, AND RACE FUEL THAT WILL BE ALLOWED.

basically its street racing at the track, with bragging rights, the winner takes whatever cash is collected, ( 23 ppl in already, mostly hondas..hehehehe..) u do the math, it is a sport compact event only.
the winner also gets a sticker for his or her car,(2 gurlz entered already) stating I WON BRAGNITE/DRAGNITE 6/24 and the loser gets a I LOST BRAGNITE/DRAGNITE 6/24

all entries have to be in by the 21th if anyone is interested hit me up. should be fun plus like i said so far its mostly honda ppl in.. im loving that...

well im completely stumped. ok.. ive changed the headgasket, new headstuds, new radiator, new water pump, new thermastat, new sensor and gauge connector and still heating up.. thu not as quickly.. any ideas? . i love my car but its driving me crazy..

on another note. a G I friend of mine is needing a nt standard transmission for a 2g. anyone have one i can get u his number and u can work it out.

anyone have any ideas let me know. bout the only thing i think is i blew the headgasket again... ill pressure test it at the shop again tomorrow and go from there. the funniest thing is that it doesnt boil over.. no bubbling at all?

What head gasket? Is it a MLS? If so what RA are the mating surfaces? What did you torque the studs to? What temp thermostat are you using? Did you bleed the coolant system really well with the heat running? What fans are you using? What coolant/water ratio? What temps are you seeing? Is it only getting hot at idle or crusining too?

Lots of questions but its important for diagnosing the issue.

I was having an overheating problem just a couple of weeks ago. I was hitting 230* on the highway. I built some sheet metal ducting from the intercooler up to the radiator, I changed the coolant/water ratio to 25/75% and added a bottle of water wetter, changed the thermosat to a 170 (1g stock is 195 and 2g is 180), replaced the cap, and swapped from dual slim fans to the main stock fan and a slim fan (stock fans flow quite a bit more then the slims if you can make them fit). Last week cruising on i-10 I was running 180-190. Coming down trans mountain I hit 174. Idling its still around 203 but that's when the fans come on, on 1gs the ecu has no control over the fans like on 2gs. I ordered an adjustable fan controller which I get tomorrow so I should be able to lower it another 10* or so at idle. I'm using the coolant ofset feature on link so my fuel trims will still update, they start updating at 190 on the 1gs and 180 on the 2gs.
