I've been shopping around for a nice intercooler lately, and have completed several searches throughout these forums. I really havn't found all the answers im looking for though.

Its been beaten into the ground that bar and plate is far more efficant than the alternative. This definately is the route i want to go, but im still interested in learning more about it.

-First of all, is it possible to distinguish the two just by plain sight? Rather than just SPEARCO.

-Are there any other popular cores besides spearco that are proven, and bar and plate?

-Are sbr and dejon tool intercoolers this style?

Any other useful facts that i should need to know on the subject would be great and helpful.

Bar and plate cores are visually different; square tubes with very dense fins.

Dejon tool street core says it's bar and plate, but it looks like tube and fin to me, and so does the race core.

SBR intercoolers are bar and plate and you can clearly see it in the polished vs. nonpolished pic.
