just received an ebay t70 turbo. just want people that have it to review on it. im not expecting wonders of it in fact its just a temporary solution since my gt35 died on me.

ill be installing it tomorow and giving my own review about it.

well i just finished installing it what a hazzle!! nothing i had was compatible with it fittings lines nothing. also its a hard fit, the compresor hits the block i had to shave a small area of the compressor housing. i have to go to work now, so ill tested on the way to work and tomorrow. and let you guys know. and also Ill post when it explodes or something happens to it.

measurements. it is bigger than the gt35 . the compressor housing is .70 just like the gt35 but the wheel is 2 mm bigger and same on the exhaust wheel. tha exhaust housing is supposly .84 though it loos a lot bigger to my. my gt35 was .82 and looks small besides that one. this are just size comparisons. we all know there is no comparison in performance to the gt35r

something's not right. im seeing 19psi but not the pull Im used to at the same psi. right now I dont have the exhaust connected and it spools fast at 3k rpm i start getting boost.

what could be wrong? could it be i have to tune again for this different turbo?

my problem was a wrong combination of the eboost controller hoses. I just installed a MBC i had from long time and everything good. so far so good. I am not dissapointed yet. its pulling hard. at the end of the week ill try to dyno and post results.

As I said on BRforums, I had a 16g ebay turbo with incredible results, and satisfaction. Had it for over a year, beat the piss out of it, quarted it, and beat it some more. Never a single problem. A few people have had bad experiences, and some good. I guess it may be luck of the draw. Either way, good luck, and I hope you get a good one too, I hate to see a fellow DSMr get screwed.

Yeah its great to see some people are actually going the ebay route. Me and selmerguy have had good luck and it looks like we are some of the most recent people to purchase stuff off ebay. It would be interesting to see if anyone one here actually has any serious problems with the new ebay items. Seems like all the newer stuff they have been producing have been nothing but great items.

armandovivoni, Elvenhome21, selmerguy, spinninfwdlaser - do you have a link to the seller? The quality of the turboes has to be related to the quality of the seller. Maybe we can figure out whos who and get some real reveiws on these guys so we know who to buy from :thumb:

(I have an ebay T3/T4 50 trim about to be installed on a 2.0)

I will find out in aprill if it can withstand a full weekend at Road America.

My resoning behind buying a ebay turbo is simple. Spend $1200 on a gt35r turbo and have it last what one season of racing then needs a rebuild, or for the same price blow up 6 ebay turbos for $200 a piece a still not be at the price of a gt35r that might need a rebuild.

I will clean my post up tommorrow when I can think straighter

Is this the turbo you guys are buying just wondering cause it says its a 61mm which would not make it a t70. Correct me if im wrong here. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Supe...tegoryZ33742QQihZ005QQitemZ150093854262QQrdZ1

This one here shows the exducer being 84mm not sure if this is the same size as the one above http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/T-70...5QQihZ020QQcategoryZ33742QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I was just reading the above post and he said he bought this instead of a gt35r, I thought this was bigger than a gt35r?

the only part with some of them, being the XS Power are there center sections are glued together...however i havent seen many come apart, inface they seem to be a decent alternative, but dont expect it to last forever.

How can a center section be glued together. Are you talking that one compressor cover that was glued? I dont think that do it that way anymore,if you spend 250 bucks on a turbo you most likely wont have it last forever.

Glad to hear others are having good luck. My T3/T4 57 trim is still holding together. My header hasnt cracked yet. Maybe because I have it supported heavily. I installed good oil feed and return lines. ( also from ebay). -4 an feed and -10 drain. My turbo came with a no hassle one year warranty from speedyracer317 on ebay. Seem to be decent people. Good luck to the others with thier turbos. Travis:thumb:

The user name is SSAUTOCHROME on Ebay.

OK , my veredict. I do NOT recomend this turbo to anyone. its got exessive LAG. tough it still has no shaftplay what so ever. maybe a 75 shot NOS will eliminate lag but even when it hits the 19psi it is nothing compared with my old one(rest in piece) at the same psi. thumbs down for this one.

the .84 exhaust housing looks like a 1.15 it makes the .82 exhaust housing from my old GT series look tiny.

I am trying to find a .63 housing for it or maybe a lit bigger. if anyone know wich housing will fit please!

A little old but two things to point out. To the OP I can tell at the time of this(I say that because you may have educated yourself more by now) you were making newb mistakes and comments that will explain why you view this turbo in a bad light. On your GT35r was duall BB turbo and I doubt you only ran 19psi on it. Two of course the fittings and stuff aren't gonna work they aren't universal. ALL GT series turbos(GT30r, gt35r, gt40, gt42r, all the sbr gt turbos ect..) use diffrent fittings and hook ups than standard journal bearing turbos not to mention their water and oil cooled. Second and even more important is the fact that your trying to run 19psi on a turbo with a very diffrent map than a gt35r. A t70 was not meant to even be run at like 19psi on a 4cyl. You should be running like 25psi or up to see the potential of that thing. I think max power on a t70 ebay special is more like 35psi if I remember seeing right. Just food for thought.

Ive always wondered about the turbo also. From what the seller says its a P trim turbine wheel. I mean if someone would acually get one of these turbos and acually put a micrometer on the compressor and turbine wheels inducer and exducer we would know alittle more. If it is a P trim turbine wheel theres a simple fix for the turbine housing. You can find anywere from .63 .70 .82 .100 a/r etc turbine housings divided and undivided :thumb:
