The Diamond Star Tuner Association is holding another meet/cruise/movie event on April 4th, in Ames, IA. Come meet us at the Wal-Mart on Duff Ave in Ames at 3:00pm. The plan is for a cruise out to a local park for some hood-popping, bench racing, and photographing. After that, we cruise back into town for a meal that can't be beat at a local sports bar or restaraunt. (The location is TBA) Afterward we cruise to the movie theater to check out the fourth (and hopefully final) installment of the Fast and the Furious franchise. Cruising or hitting the Ames street scene is optional after that.

Hope to see quite a few of you guys there!

Highway miles don't count toward break-in anyway... ;)

Per Fidanza they want 500 miles stop and go and if I were to go on a highway trip put on another 500 miles. Its going to be hard getting 500 on before the track opens so I need to go that route first.

sweet. what was the consensus on the restaurant? you guys mentioned you want buffalo wings again, but i can't remember what the name of the restaurant was.

definitely bring the subis!

Sweet! Sounds Great. I will try to have maps to hand out so the slower civic drivers don't lose the quicker dsm drivers again :p

Also, if anyone has walkie talkies, bring them. That could help with directions and might be a bit entertaining as well. I will bring 2.

See you guys Saturday!

You must mean West Side Wings? There should be enough pple from Ames to help lost pple out but maps would be a good idea:thumb:

yea, west side wings, i just thought someone said cys wings or some crap like tht. if i can find my 2 walkies ill bring them.

Yep west cyde wings it is. I'll get maps made today and hand out at walmart when we meet there. It'll also have on there how to get to the theater from west cyde. I figured we could take a back route with some curves to the movies ;-)

donate plasma and/or sperm! do it for vin diesel!! :p

Okay, Cinemark is showing F&F at 4:50 pm, 7:20 pm, and 9:50 pm. so we can either hit the 4:50 one and do the park and the food afterward or hit the 7:20 one and hit the food and park first.
also, the website shows that tickets will be $7.25 for a normal ticket, not sure what the 4:50 pm matinée price is.

looking at the maps, would Ledges State Park in Boone be okay? its a 13 mile drive, but it looks like a gorgeous place! lots of twisties, too!

This is what a local DNR officer had to say on the subject of Ledges:
Ledges is open year round. The canyon road (the one-way road where you drive through the water crossings) is currently closed to vehicles but you can still hike into it. We usually close the canyon road to only vehicles from early November to mid April for the winter. However, this year we are forced to delay the opening of the canyon to vehicles because of some FEMA road & stream bank repair following last years' flood. I'm not sure when the canyon road will open to vehicles, but hopefully by the first part of May.

Right now the entire park is open; you are just restricted from driving your vehicle into the canyon. The campground is open, but the shower & restroom buildings are not open yet. They are scheduled to be opened on our around April 15th.

so it is your guys' call what you want to do. there is the risk of a storm too. if it looks bad tomorrow morning, we will call the meet off. i will make phone calls and post on here and on DSTA's site.
