Well my car sits yet again in the driveway on jack stands. I have not the effort or time to pull it apart again. I am to the point I just want to take it somewhere and say call me when it is done.

However when it comes to mechanics, I have a bit of a trust problem. I will not leave my car anywhere without knowing the person working on it or references to their work. I have searched on many sites for a DSM shop in NC (near Raleigh) to have some work done and have come up with nothing. I would like to see a list of shops from all over that DSM-ers recommend. Maybe make it into an official list on DSMTuners. I am not sure how well this would work or if there would be any issues with sponsors or vendors on this site but if it can be done, I think it would be a very valuable resource.

What do you all think?

I have looked everywhere for someone local. The places listed on the link you provided are mostly retailers for parts and do not provide the service to fix the car. I was trying to get a more local list going. Not meaning NC only but for those who do not live near the few that are listed on the site. I know there are many people out there who have had work done at a trustworthy, reliable shop.

eek, good luck brotherROFL

I lucked out because I just happen to know a guy a few miles away that has been a mechanic for Mitsu/Chrys. since 1980 something. There is nothing he cant handle on a dsm, and he works on cars at his house after work, and charges next to nothing.

I had a friend who did that and since even before I had this car he was the only one to work on it. Not too long ago there began to be issues with his neighbors and the city about the cars in front of the house and noise he was making. I used to have to tow it to a parking lot across the street from his neighborhood and limp it into his driveway. He would charge me for cost of parts and nearly nothing for labor although I sent him a little bit of business to make up for it.
