This is by far the quickest way to honestly check if its a 6bolt or not. If its a 1992 tho I dont think you have to worry about a 7bolt in there. I think 7bolts didnt start till 1994.....

thanks alot guys. hopefully i will beable to offload my cavalier soon, im dying to pick up the DSM and start moddin it

Note that a Mitsu Mechanic has posted here on these VERY boards that 70% of the 2G Turbo's that that gets on the rack are out of tolerance for crankshaft thrust... he said they don't check every one - just those on the rack.

but 2G's are "prettier"...

but hell a 1G IS PRETTIER THAN A DAMN CAVALIER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Keep in mind these are just minor details and peoples personal experiences and thoughts. If you go DSM, you can't go wrong, no matter the year or the motor. There are a ton of aftermarket parts for all years and types and plenty of people who have what you might get, so there is the community also. Don't be discouraged by what we say on this forum, because you'll find it in the Nissan and Ford and Honda ( to name a few ) forums also. Get a DSM. Live it, love it, and learn it. :thumb:

Out of tolerance is to be expected with the 2G's, as long as it doesn't fully walk you'll be okay. Remember that of that 70%, the percentages that actually walk is much lower.

cant even find those in minnesota and if you do its gone the next day. but i needed something you know. 2Gs do look very, very nice though.

1g, 2g, who cares, its still a DSM, no matter it looks like....
:dsm:

but yes the 97-99 2gs are some of the best looking cars, i think.

almost anything would be better than a cavalier anyway

yeh i know. im still trying to get rid of it. and there are like NO DSMs for sale in calgary, canada. im thinking about importing one up from the states

i searched for a canadian auto trader and found a couple DSMs, ones a 98 turbo spyder and the other is a 95, it doesnt say if its turbo or not, so i would guess not.

heres a link its kinda long:
http://www.canadatrader.com/trader/...&or=0&oby=7&IsSr=1&rubno=4000&sid=&ste=&task=

how much are you lookin to spend? theres a 97 GSX thats 18,500, dont know what that is in canadian dollars... i searched all of alberta by the way. theres a couple other GS-Ts at Westside Acura, depending on how far that is from you, you might wanna check em out.

EDIT:
one of the GS-Ts shows a 3000GT in the picture, might be a VR-4, looks like theres something in white on the back side window but i cant tell. they may have just put up the wrong pic.

i dont mind spending the money, but i want AWD and non-convertable. oh and i want a first gen

thanks for helping me look. wanna help me sell my car too. LOL

I sent in my ad yesterday. so its gonna be in januarys issue. i may just straight up trade it, with a dealer if i can find a dealer that has a talon

Well I'd like to pre-welcome you to the dsm world :D.

couple things to know:

These are(and most people will agree with me) high maintenance vehicles. You should always make sure maintenance is done on time, and not half ass :p

At first, the best way to get information is to search the boards and other dsm resources. www.dsm.org used to be pretty good, but I don't know whats going on there. www.vfaq.com, http://members.shaw.ca/costall/1000Q/ and www.dsmtalk.com are decent resources for information.(even though dsmtalks moderaters can be nazi like sometimes :shhh:)

Happy tunning!

215/45/ZR17" Goodyear Eagle F1-GSD2 tires

i put in the ad for $10K CDN OBO.
but frankly im willing to trade it straight for a DSM if a dealer has one

according to nadaguides.com its worth about 7k US, which is $9,158 in canadian, but with all those mods itll be more (obviously). i dont think you should do an even trade with a 1g, because you would probably be losing a lot of money, which could be spent on mods (or repairs  )
i was thinking about trading in my bmw for a while but decided against it because dealers would probably try to give me like 1-2k for it and its worth atleast twice that.
