OK I NEED SOME HELP. NHRA NATIONAL EVENTS NOW REQUIRE AND ENGINE DIAPER. WHERE CAN I FIND ONE FOR MY 1G AWD TALON?:talon:

There is no specific engine diaper for our cars. Jegs and Summit both sell an engine diaper made by RCI (I believe) that is universal for 4 cylinder cars. It's around $200.

The NHRA rule also states that instead of an engine diaper you can run a belly pan with a "diaper" pad in it. You can get those from Jegs and Summit as well (the pad, the pan is custom). That's what i'll be doing probably.

IIRC Shep runs the pan and Rau runs the diaper.

See the pan.

It doesn't seem so silly when you're waiting an extra half hour for them to clean up the track after some oils it down. It's just extra insurance. Besides, it's not for all of the classes...just the higher HP ones.

It doesn't seem silly when it does what it was designed for and that's to keep oil from getting on the rear tires of the car so the driver doesn't lose control and wreck when he blows something in the motor. The designers of the product weren't sitting in the staging lanes due to oil downs going "this sucks lets design a way to keep it from happening". It's designed as a safety part and that's why it is required for certain cars/classes.

I know what it was designed for. I was replying to the comment that it was "silly". Someone making that comment can care less what it was designed for but would care about the fact that he has to sit there and wait for the track to get cleaned up. Sorry if you took it the wrong way.

I believe Six Sigma Tuning makes one that fits perfectly with multiple configurations.
