I have a question i am about to order a new o2 housing and downpipe. The downpipe will be a 3in dp the problem is my HKS catback for some reason has 2.5 inlet to match up to stock downpipe. Will i be able to bolt the 3in dp to the 2.5in catback inlet for the time being. I plan on ordering a different catback someday just not right now, Or am i going to have to cut off the 2.5 section and weld on some 3in?

You can do it although it may cause a small exhaust leak. I had the same problem initially. Replace the neck down section as soon as possible regardless. Going from 3" to 2.5" is causing unnecessary turbulence.

i plan on it i was upset when i saw the hks catback was 2.5 inlet. i think ima just sell it and get a megan racing catback. but thanks

Do you like the sound of your HKS? If you do, it would be dumb to sell it and get the Megan. Just have a muffler shop replace the 2.5" section with some 3", it will be pretty cheap.

i do like the sound of it aswell i like how the piping is coated not shiny stainless i think looks cleaner under the car. ill check what itll run to have it made 3in

Use a Stainless Steel stepped exhaust clamp 3"x2.5" for abot $10. All you need is to cut the flange and clamp on each side of the exhaust. You need to make sure that the length of the clamp will compensate for the flanges length. JEGS has all sizes or you can also find them in performance muffler shops.

I also agree on just get that section cut off and get a 3" pipe put in place. Just have them put a 3" flange on the new pipe piece so it will all still be bolt on. I loved the way my HKS exhaust use to sound on my 1g

ya ima just cut it and weld a piece of 3in in on it. i just finished making a 4in turboback for my cummins so shouldnt be any harder:p and i love my hks just not how they make the first part 2.5
